Channing Tatum Rejects Hollywood Weight Extremes
Clear Facts
- Channing Tatum revealed he will no longer undergo drastic weight changes for film roles.
- He shared photos and details of his weight fluctuations, highlighting a 30-pound difference for movies like ‘Josephine’ and ‘Roofman.’
- Tatum emphasized that these transformations have become too physically demanding and that he now prioritizes his health and family.
Channing Tatum, well-known for his roles in “Magic Mike” and “Step Up,” recently stated he is finished with extreme body transformations for Hollywood.
He explained his experience of gaining and losing significant weight for various films, sharing images and specific numbers on social media.
“We back up!” Tatum said in his Instagram post, paired with several shirtless photographs.
He described, “1st photo is today 205. 2nd photo 235 for a movie called Josephine.”
He added, “Then went to 3rd photo which is 172 for a movie Roofman.”
Tatum credited his fitness changes to the support of his team but acknowledged the process was tough on his body.
“I’m so grateful for my genetics. Grateful for my chef/nutritionist/witch. Grateful for my trainer. I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys,” Tatum said.
He made clear he is finished with major body changes for roles, humorously stating, “But I won’t be doing any more fat roles. It’s too hard on the body and too hard to take off now. But damn when I look at these pics it’s just wild what the human body… can do.”
Throughout his career, Tatum became known for his athletic roles and impressive dance moves, especially in films like “Step Up,” which helped launch his Hollywood career.
Tatum married Jenna Dewan in 2009 after their on-screen partnership led to a real-life relationship, and the couple had a daughter, Everly, in 2013.
The marriage ended in divorce in 2018.
Jenna Dewan reflected on the separation in her memoir, writing, “I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter. First and foremost, I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.”
After the divorce, Tatum dedicated his time to his daughter.
He shared, “I just dropped everything and just focused on her. And it was truly the best possible thing that I ever could have done. Because in the alone time that I have with just me and her, we’ve become best friends.”
In 2021, Tatum began dating Zoë Kravitz, and the couple became engaged two years later, but reportedly ended their relationship in 2024.
Channing Tatum’s recent reflections show a renewed commitment to personal well-being and family values.
