Dem Rep Sparks Chaos in Hearing Over Musk Subpoena Dispute

Clear Facts
- A House Oversight Committee hearing became chaotic when Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury objected to the Republicans’ decision to table a motion to subpoena Elon Musk.
- The motion to subpoena Musk was introduced by Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly, citing Musk’s significant role, but was deemed “not debatable” by Committee Chairman James Comer.
- The motion to subpoena Musk failed on a party-line vote, with 20 members voting against and 19 in favor.
A recent House Oversight Committee hearing descended into disorder after Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico vehemently opposed the Republicans’ decision to table a motion that sought to subpoena Elon Musk.
The motion, introduced by Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly from Virginia, was grounded in Musk’s “prominence and his importance” in his role, yet Committee Chairman James Comer declared it “not debatable.”
As Republicans moved to table the motion, Stansbury attempted to raise what she termed a “point of order,” a move contested by Comer and other members.
“Mr. Chairman, I think it’s outrageous that this committee will not even entertain a motion,” Stansbury asserted, prompting Comer and others to interject, stating her claim was not a valid “point of order.”
Despite the uproar, Stansbury continued, accusing Musk of “breaking the law and dismantling our federal agencies and firing federal employees.” She also criticized Comer for dismissing Connolly’s motion.
The hearing backdrop includes a plan by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk to merge the functions of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) into the State Department. This agency has been under scrutiny for its financial allocations, including grants for Palestinian programs and Afghan aid initiatives that risk benefiting the Taliban.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, now overseeing the agency, has labeled USAID as “completely uncooperative” in spending oversight efforts. Workforce reductions have also affected several agencies, including USAID.
“Let’s have order in this country,” Stansbury insisted.
Comer retorted, “Ms. Stansbury, you’re out of order. You know you’re out of order. You know the rules of this committee.”
Stansbury countered, suggesting Musk is the one truly “out of order.”
Following the heated exchange, a committee member called for a “recorded vote” on the motion to subpoena Musk, which Comer permitted. The motion ultimately failed, with a party-line vote of 20 against and 19 in favor.

Just observe All the members of Congress and determine the ones who put the Country FIRST OR their ambitions and personal& financial gains at the top of their agenda ? In the current self-sufficing environment of our Nation ,elected officials and our voters can ” we the people ” overcome the selfish actions that may cause our destruction >>>Call a Roman and see what they say about the problems OH ! too late ” they are gone forever ” ! Nobody in their right mind would want the massive over-regulation, over-bloated payrolls, over-payments, illegal-payments, and unethical/questionable-payments of our out-of-control government to continue, UNLESS that person was in fact an illegal recipient of our government’s largess and incompetence.
Chairman Comer should initiate an investigation into Stansbury’s personal finances. Given her ferocious and venomous approach to this matter, one would have to assume she’s most likely on the take.

Democrats would rather use the tax payers money and have Musk spend countless, wasted hours defending himself. It’s ridiculous the media continues to encite hate toward Trump and now Musk. They are terrified of what is going to be uncovered. And the financial losses as well of their loss of power. They should all pay consequences for all the life threatening propaganda. That’s taking freedom of speech too far. It intentionally encourages ever unstable person to commit the crime for them.

The Democrat party much like the Liberal party and NDP in Canada have NO desire to see America succeed. They are all it appears traitors to their country and wish to pour money down the drain of over employment and departments that should not even be there. They want us all to die on DEI which is designed to create dissension and destroy proper governance.

No Musk should not be subpoenaed. The democrats are out of order. They need to be held accountable for the unconstitutional acts they have been pursuing.

All these posters are saying Musk is firing people, shutting dowmn agencies etc. etc. etc. Nothing could be more wrong. The DOGE is a special administrative advisory office legally created by Trump to research and gather financial information about government spending. Agencies being shut down and people being fired is Trumps responsibility based on research done by DOGE. because the GAO is not doing it’s job of monitoring spending. , How can adults be this stupid ?? Oh, thats right these are demonRATS, people who are used to getting their way for more years than I want to admit. It is time for the nonsense and government gravy train to be ended.
