In a significant legal development, former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. The sentencing took place in a Manhattan courtroom, presided over by Federal Judge Sidney Stein. This decision follows Menendez’s conviction on 16 counts related to a bribery and corruption scheme involving the Egyptian government and several New Jersey businessmen.
The case against Menendez, who was charged during President Joe Biden’s administration, centered on allegations that he sold his influence in Washington for personal gain. Authorities discovered over $480,000 in cash, more than $100,000 in gold bars, and a luxury vehicle at his home, all linked to the bribery scheme.
Menendez, speaking outside the courtroom, stated, “President Trump was right. This process is political, and it’s corrupted to the core. I hope President Trump cleans up the cesspool and restores the integrity to the system.”
Despite the conviction, Menendez has consistently denied any wrongdoing. During a 12-minute speech in court, he tearfully acknowledged his mistakes but emphasized he had “done far more good than bad” throughout his career. Prosecutors had sought a 15-year sentence, arguing that Menendez’s actions were a blatant attempt to corrupt U.S. power. However, his defense team argued for a sentence not exceeding 8 years.
Menendez’s legal troubles date back to a separate indictment in 2015, where he was accused of accepting money from a Democratic donor for political favors. That trial ended in a mistrial due to a deadlocked jury.
Amidst the legal proceedings, Menendez resigned from his Senate seat in August, following pressure from fellow Democrats. At the time of the charges, he was serving as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, a position from which he temporarily stepped down.
Nadine Menendez, his wife, also faces charges but has had her trial postponed due to her cancer treatment. Both have pleaded not guilty.

So he claims he did nothing wrong? Why? Cause everybody else does it. Only you got caught. He should have followed the nazi Nancy school of insider trading deals. She’s a pro at it. Worth 200 mil plus. And makes 200,000 plus per year? That doesn’t pass the smell test.

Menendez — like Trump in two cases in NY — had extensive legal repesentation but was nevertheless convicted by a jury of his peers based on very substantial evidence.
I suppose that In this new Trumpian culture, everyone must now claim (out of court only, of course, and without evidence) that the entire judicial process)was “political” and “corrupt”. This blatant request for a pardon won’t work, Bud; Trump’s pardons are reserved only for political allies, business friends and domestic terrorists who support him.

Menendez was accused for doing basically the same thing in the 2015 hearing. Unfortunately, someone messed up causing the case to become thrown out. One would think that experiencing a mistrial he would realize he was afforded a second chance to change and amend his ways. He never did. In fact, he became even more corrupt with clear evidence to support the claims of his guilt this time around. The allegations made against him were justified and proof was in the pudding. It was not a political witch hunt. Instead, justice was carried out due to various incriminating evidence at his & Nadine’s home.
When he declared the process was corrupt to the core, he is merely saying that to project his guilt upon something or some one else due to his denial of facts and his perception of reality. Those who are actually guilty of serious crimes think they are innocent and then shed crocodile tears in hopes someone will show sympathy for him.
Well, the fact of the matter is… HE WAS corrupt, and his wife was complicit in his crimes. We will have to wait until her cancer treatments are complete and if she survives to see how and to what degree she was involved.
The same thing should occur with the Biden and Clinton families. The Clintons are truly evil & corrupt people, while the Biden family are corrupt & traitorous.
There are two ways to look at present court claims: 1. when it’s plain as day someone has done wrong, there is no justice to be had, and 2. when there’s mere allegations made by the accusers who are filthy rich & heavily connected to unsavory people, they are fully capable of taking someone to court They buy a judge off along with certain jury members to ensure the defendant is guilty as sin when in all reality they aren’t.
So why is it that people love to say Trump was no different than Menendez was? Could it be that Trump was a successful businessman, capable of running the affairs of this country into success, peace, and safety; one who is outside of the corrupt political realm? I would say, YES to all of the above. Trump was Biden’s opponent and Sleepy Joe and his elitist handlers needed Trump out of the way IF they were to succeed in destroying America as planned over the years. He was a threat to Biden’s family corrupt business shenanigans, so they contrived many things against him with vague and empty allegations, mere speculation & self-inflicted suppositions.
The charges against him WAS politically motivated as a way to take him out of the election process.
Their allegations lacked REAL evidence, with a judge who was thoroughly corrupt, who implicated himself with the help of his daughter who was associated with the Soros family’s organizations.
Then you have the key witness who kept changing her story. How could she provide reliable testimony to what she CLAIMED happened to her and with whom?
The check Trump signed was to pay his lawyer’s services. His fee was also to ensure her allegations do not disrupt his Presidential duties. There was nothing wrong in paying someone to remain quiet. Many businesses do that in order to avoid going to court, which is intended to besmudge someone’s character, their business’ reputation, and their business vitality… all because someone may or may not have a valid claim to present against them.
