Gunfire Hits Sacramento TV Station Building

Sacramento authorities responded Friday afternoon to reports of gunshots on the 400 block of Broadway where ABC10’s office was located. Officials confirmed the building was hit by bullets.
“While details are still limited, importantly all of our employees are safe and unharmed,” said Molly McMahon, spokesperson for Tegna, which owns the ABC affiliate.
Police have classified the shooting as a drive-by. The suspect fled in a vehicle, and as of Friday evening, no injuries or additional suspect information had been released.
The event took place shortly after ABC’s move to suspend late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Demonstrations have erupted in California and New York, with Democrat politicians supporting Kimmel and criticizing Republican positions on free speech issues.
ABC10 and Sacramento Police have not provided further comment on the attack.
