ICE Operations Deliver Safety Gains for Tennessee
Clear Facts
- Since Inauguration Day, ICE has deported over 600,000 illegal aliens, including serious criminals.
- Memphis saw a 44% drop in overall crime following the creation of the Safe Task Force with ICE support.
- ICE officers face growing threats, with assaults up 1,300% amid anti-enforcement rhetoric and protests.
ICE officers have worked diligently to enforce immigration laws, resulting in more than 600,000 deportations, including gang members and violent offenders.
Another 1.9 million individuals have self-deported to avoid arrest.
In Tennessee, ICE has played a crucial role in Memphis, where its partnership in the Safe Task Force coincided with a sharp decline in crime of 44% overall, including major decreases in car thefts and murders.
Since its September launch, the task force has made more than 5,800 arrests, hundreds for domestic violence and aggravated assault, with ICE arresting nearly 800 individuals charged with serious crimes such as child abuse and human trafficking.
This success has come from strong cooperation between local, state, and federal authorities.
In November, the Shelby County Sheriff adopted a 287(g) agreement to enhance the detention of illegal aliens wanted by ICE, showing how joint efforts can serve as a national model.
ICE operations stretch beyond Memphis, targeting criminals statewide, including meth traffickers in Monroe County and gang members in Nashville linked to a transnational sex trafficking network.
Despite these achievements, ICE officers regularly encounter criticism and hostility from politicians who mischaracterize their work.
California Governor Gavin Newsom referred to ICE as “secret police.”
Minnesota’s Tim Walz compared them to “modern-day Gestapo.”
Rep. Ilhan Omar stated that ICE’s actions are “vile and beyond cruel.”
Rep. Rashida Tlaib alleged that agents are “turning our country into a fascist police state.”
This rhetoric has led to a 1,300% surge in assaults on ICE agents and increased risk during their lawful operations.
Recently in Minneapolis, Renee Good attempted to obstruct officers and assaulted an ICE agent, resulting in the need for lethal force after the agent suffered internal bleeding.
Rather than easing their language, some leaders continue their confrontational stance against ICE, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey telling agents to “get the f— out” and Minnesota filing lawsuits against federal enforcement efforts.
In Congress, proposals to cut agency funding threaten ICE’s mission to uphold public safety.
Misinformation from certain media sources has contributed further, as seen when claims of violence by state troopers in Tennessee were contradicted by dashcam evidence.
ICE agents risk their lives daily for the security of communities nationwide and deserve support for upholding the rule of law.

I agree to deport them including Tlaib, Omar! I want US kids safe from traffickers, our little girls safe from rape & murdered, our women also, no more drugs or gangs running our cities! Why do you think they’re here for?? To take over our country! Look at France, Africa & other countries they’ve terrorized! Don’t you remember how great our country was before open borders?

It’s time we Patriots got these tratiors out of our country, one way or another. We voted for this enforcement and are 1000% behind President Trump.
