Key Surveillance Camera Seized in Kirk Shooting Probe

Investigators in Orem are reviewing a confiscated home security camera that may provide new leads in the search for the person responsible in the fatal shooting of conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
Police and federal agents removed the camera from a property close to Utah Valley University, where Kirk was shot Wednesday while addressing a campus event.
“I believe our camera caught the person authorities are seeking, moving through backyards right after the incident,” a local resident told the press.
The property sits alongside an alleyway and wooded area, believed to have been used by the suspect to escape. Investigators discovered a high-powered, bolt-action rifle nearby during their search.
Special Agent Robert Bohls stated that they found several key pieces of evidence, including a palm print, footprint, and a forearm imprint at the scene.
The FBI released photos of a man in black tactical gear who is considered a person of interest in the shooting.
Multiple witnesses recounted the chaos that ensued after Kirk was shot, with attendees urgently seeking cover. Kirk, a father of two and founder of Turning Point USA, was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.
Authorities believe the gunshot was fired from approximately 200 yards away, from a rooftop across the courtyard where Kirk was speaking.
