Man who told Biden ‘Let’s go Brandon’ during NORAD call says it was a joke

- Biden replied, “Let’s go, Brandon. I agree,” apparently not knowing its meaning.
- The man insists he’s not a supporter of former President Donald Trump.
An Oregon man told President Biden “Let’s go Brandon” during the annual White House NORAD Santa-tracking phone call on Friday. Jared Schmeck, 35, claims he used the message as “a joke.”
The phrase has become popular among conservatives as a coded message that means “F— Joe Biden.” the father of four said he meant “no disrespect” to the president when he mentioned it during the final seconds of the call.
“Merry Christmas and Let’s go Brandon,” Schmeck said at the end of the call.
“Let’s go Brandon, I agree,” Biden replied.
Schmeck posted the clip of his end of the call on YouTube.
He said he thought the call would be automated. He was surprised when they answered.
Schmeck was smiling throughout the clip. He laughed when the president asked what he wanted for Christmas.
“Maybe a quiet night,” he said with a chuckle.
“Lots of luck, Dad,” Biden replied.
Schmeck explained to the Oregonian, “At the end of the day, I have nothing against Mr. Biden, but I am frustrated because I think he can be doing a better job,”
He said he is aware that “there is a vulgar meaning to ‘Let’s go Brandon,’ but I’m not that simple-minded, no matter how I feel about him.” He insisted that “There’s no animosity or anything like that. It was merely just an innocent jest to also express my God-given right to express my frustrations in a joking manner … I love him just like I love any other brother or sister.”
Schmeck added that Biden seems like “he’s a cordial guy.”
The dad said he “stood 100% behind what I did and what I said,” adding he’s not a Trumper. He just wanted to tell that he’s frustrated with the administration’s policies such as federal vaccine mandates, and other issues including inflation.
“And now I am being attacked for utilizing my freedom of speech,” he complained.
The popular phrase first came into use in October. A sports reporter mistakenly claimed a NASCAR crowd was cheering “Let’s go Brandon” when they were actually chanting “F— Joe Biden.”

Let’s go Brandon! I will say that all day long. I don’t care who is triggered by it. It was a joke but then again so is our dear leader. I’m glad that Biden agreed that he sucks as a president. He should have left well enough alone.
