New Mexico politician removed from office over Jan. 6 involvement [Video]

- A New Mexico judge ruled that a county commissioner violated the U.S. Constitution by participating in an insurrection.
- Republican Cuoy Griffin became the first public official to be removed from office over his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack.
- Griffin, the founder of Cowboys for Trump, is also disqualified from any future public office positions.
An Otero County commissioner has been removed from office on Tuesday after New Mexico Judge Francis Matthew ruled that the politician violated the U.S. Constitution by engaging in an insurrection, court documents reveal.
Cuoy Griffin, the founder of Cowboys for Trump, is also disqualified from any future public office positions due to his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
The decision was made after a lawsuit was filed urging Griffin’s removal under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
The section states that “No person shall hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as an officer of the United States, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same.”
This is the first time since 1869 that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment has been used to remove a politician from office. It is also the first time a judge has formally called the riots an “insurrection,” according to CNN.
In March, Griffin was convicted of trespassing on U.S. Capitol grounds during the Jan. 6 riot. In June, a D.C. federal judge sentenced Griffin to 14 days in jail with time served and one year of supervised release.
Testimony in court not only confirmed the previous trespassing conviction. Griffin also took a “leadership position” during the attack by giving speeches and promoting the events on social media.
Griffin defended the Jan. 6 attack and even suggested a possible repeat of it in the future.
The New Mexico judge called Griffin’s arguments “without merit and contrary to evidence,” also noting that he provided “no evidence himself in his own defense.” Matthew wrote, “His protestations and characterizations of his actions are not credible and amounted to nothing more than attempting to put lipstick on a pig.”
Griffin reacted to the ruling, telling CNN, “I’m shocked. Just shocked,” he said. “I really did not feel like the state was going to move on me in such a way. I don’t know where I go from here.”

Well then, why can’t we use section # of the 14th Amendment to remove a lot of these so called politicians from office? Especially the likes of Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, and Waters- just to name a few!

It was not an insurrection until outside intervention stirred the pot.I think that most conservatives have a pretty good idea which liberal,socialist corrupt democRATS were involved in this.If a Republican wins the Presidency will the corrupt party declare martial law and call the election null and void.The conservatives really need to take AMERICA back and do it soon or there will not be a free AMERICA.

Videos show that many joined the mobs in looting and destroying properties. These morons all need to be prosecuted for violating the oath of office to protect and serve there citizens.
