President Biden and first lady visit Uvalde community [Video]
- President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden visited Uvalde, Texas, to grieve with the community following last week’s mass shooting.
- The first couple paid their respects at the memorial site and met with survivors, victims’ families, and first responders.
- The president was met with chants of “Do something,” to which he responded, “We will.”
President Joe Biden visited the grieving community of Uvalde, Texas, on Sunday, together with first lady Jill Biden.
The Bidens paid their respects at the memorial site at Robb Elementary School, where they were joined by School Principal Mandy Gutierrez, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and Uvalde County Independent School District Independent Superintendent Dr. Hal Harrell.
The memorial site was filled with flowers and white crosses, as well as photos of the children. The first lady was seen touching each photo.
They also joined hundreds of parishioners in attending mass at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
As they departed, they were met with chants of “Do something.” Biden then responded, “We will.”
Then, the first couple met with survivors, victims’ families, and first responders.
On Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman armed with an assault-style rifle opened fire on two connected classrooms at Robb Elementary, killing twenty-one people, including 19 children.
On Tuesday, Biden addressed the nation after the shooting. He stated, “I’d hoped, when I became president, I would not have to do this again. Another massacre. Uvalde, Texas. An elementary school. Beautiful, second-, third-, fourth-graders.”
The visit to Uvalde is the president’s second trip within two weeks to comfort a community stricken with grief after a mass shooting.
Biden traveled to Buffalo, New York, on May 17 to meet with the grieving families of the shooting at a Tops supermarket. The May 14 shooting, which is being investigated as a hate crime, took the lives of ten people.
When Biden gave his commencement speech at his alma mater, the University of Delaware, on Saturday, he remarked on the shootings at Buffalo and Uvalde.
Biden stated, “Too much violence. Too much fear. Too much grief. Let’s be clear: Evil came to that elementary school classroom in Texas, to that grocery store in New York, to far too many places where innocents have died.”
The president called on all Americans to work together to make the country a safer place.

Must always remember. The trigger was only following what the finger told it to do. So it is never the gun , but always the hand behind it.
What is missing is the relationship with other people. People do not get together with others as done 40 years ago. No cell phones, Personal computers were just going out. So you did alot more of one on one so your feeling for human life was much less because you respected it. . The big thing that changed is something very simple. Back then for ANY type of personal problems were directed back to the individual rather than blaming the world for the way that the hurting minds are told today. This way they blame others for their depression when it should be them pulling up their shoe strings and go out to work your way through it.

If the President and his regime focus on more gun control, it simply means they have no clue as to the real problem, or they have an agenda that doesn’t match the reality of the situation. This is a mental illness and sociopath problem, not a gun problem. People were saying that this could not have happened if Mr. Ramos was armed with a knife, but it could have. He could also have done considerable damage with a pistol or a small bomb. If he did something so heinous without a rifle, would we consider banning knives, or guns, or whatever he might have used to slaughter innocent children? Probably not, as our government seems to be targeting weapons that could be used against a traitorous Army, rather than the weapons that kill more people annually than rifles and ‘assault weapons’ do, like pistols, knives, and fists.

Yes, do something Joe! Start putting criminals in jail, and stop emboldening them!
Start building mental care facilities and stop ignoring the reasons for mental illness, and then blaming guns! And most of all, stop creating mass shootings in order to grab Americans’ means of self defense!!!!

If guns are taken away from law abiding citizens, every law abiding citizen, women, children “ALL” will have a target on their back!
Because criminals and gang members, WILL NOT GIVE UP THEIR GUNS! They are the ones with the mentality to cause harm to others, and the idiots in charge know this and could do the right thing for Americans! Criminals could be put away instead of released back into society! Gangs members , drug traffickers the same, inforce our border! Parents teach children respect for and use of guns (I’m from Army family stock, my dad taught us and I taught my son, he taught his sons) teach responsibilities, common sense, respect for others!
Yes social media does so much harm to young minds with stupid ideas, bullying, showing them how to be assholes! All caused by liberals socialism commies, this administration has done more damage to young minds and is not acceptable……..

Each time an event like this happens those who were not involved and are legal owners of guns are the target of any action taken. It is not acceptable for innocent children to be targets either and locked doors and an armed guard present would begin to solve this horrible problem. Lest we forget there are hundreds of thousands of events where innocent people in our society are self-protected by their own arms or an armed good guy. It is a difficult choice of course but locked doors and armed guards are at least partial protection and needs to be considered.

demoncrats arenot trying to solve a problem. they want to disarm the populace because you cannot cram socialism down the throats of an armed populace. every brand of socialist including hitler, stalin or castro starts its tyranny taking away the guns of the people. then the state can do whatever it pleases. and that is the dream of your typical demoncrat.

Stan – I suspect you already know but just in case – that is just another made up term (like ‘assault weapon’ or ‘gun violence’) that the anti-gun crowd intentionally use to mislead and confuse people who only know what they see in the movies or are told by their ‘experts’.
BTW – we know who invented the ‘assault weapon’ term and who popularized its misuse. So far no one is willing to admit they invented ‘gun violence’ but it achieves its purpose every single day.
