“They are wrong. I trust parents, schools and local sports leagues to make these decisions for their children.”
This new stance represents a significant departure from the Democrats’ usual preference for federal intervention on issues like COVID-19 vaccine mandates and abortion rights. Instead, they are now deferring to subnational governments on the matter of transgender athletes.
The issue has gained national attention following former President Donald Trump’s recent speech to Congress and Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s acknowledgment that it is “deeply unfair” for women to compete against biological men.
Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy expressed, “Every state and every community is going to come to their own decision on it.”
Democratic Michigan Sen. Gary Peters added, “we let local schools make those kinds of decisions” because “there’s no one set of facts.”
Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker emphasized the importance of discussing fairness at the local level, stating, “There are basic issues of fairness here. There are really important issues that we should be discussing on the local level, within sports leagues and within conferences.”
This pivot by Senate Democrats highlights a rare instance where they are endorsing state and parental control over a divisive national issue.

It is not common sense to let biological boys/men comptete against bio girls/women. It us patently unfair. I am for a federal ban on this. So, one state’s colleges let men compete and in national competitions men can compete against women still? NO, NO, NO. We need a federal ban on this.

I agree with you. It should be a Federal mandate that ALL states should respect instead of letting the fickleness of one state to control the narrative. The Liberal Fruitcakes are merely trying to thumb their noses at Trump, Republican Senators, We the People who are Conservatives, and even those who call themselves Democrats who see the sense in what you and I are saying.

I don’t agree. I think banning any men/boys (transgender or straight) from womens’/girls’ sports should be a federal law, just as banning transgendering minors under the age of 18 should be illegal on a federal level. The individual leftist states will makes their own laws and parents won’t have ANY say in it. The parents will be charged if they object. The Dems are NOT suggesting this out of the goodness of their blackened hearts. This is sick and depraved behavior and our children should not be punished because of the Dems’ depravity. I agree with President Trump that schools that allow this behavior will lose their federal funding as it should be. Let Soros fund them.

The only reason Democrats are doing this is because they do not control the federal government right now but they do control some state governments. They will continue to push the transgender agenda in these states, and you can bet that parental “involvement” will be in an environment of non notification and state enforced compliance with transgeder ideology or child services will get involved. As soon as Democrats have control of the federal government, they will return to federal control.

It is apparent the representatives of the Democratic Party are not listening to the desire of American voters. This party has proven they represent their own agenda in lieu of responding to the desire of national voters as indicated by the national mandate.
