Tragedy struck a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, when a 15-year-old girl opened fire, leaving a teacher and a student dead and injuring six others. The shooter, identified as Natalie Rupnow, carried out the attack in a study hall at Abundant Life Christian School.

Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes confirmed that Rupnow was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and died en route to the hospital. Authorities are working closely with Rupnow’s family, who are cooperating with the investigation.

“He lost someone as well,” Barnes remarked about Rupnow’s father, emphasizing the need for a thorough and respectful investigation. The police chief refrained from disclosing further details about Rupnow, citing respect for the grieving family.

The shooting was reported just before 11 a.m. by a second-grade student who dialed 911. Rupnow used a handgun during the attack, but the motive remains unclear.

“I don’t know why, and I feel like if we did know why, we could stop these things from happening,” Barnes expressed to reporters.

The identities of the teacher and student who were killed have not been released. Among the six wounded, two students remain in critical condition, while a teacher and three other students sustained less severe injuries. Two of the injured have since been released from the hospital.

The school, which serves 200 students, did not have a resource officer or metal detectors, although it did have cameras and other security measures in place. This incident has prompted discussions about school safety and the need for preventive measures.

In response to the tragedy, President Biden reached out to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. He also issued a statement condemning the violence, calling it “shocking and unconscionable.”

“We can never accept senseless violence that traumatizes children, their families, and tears entire communities apart,” Biden stated.

The FBI’s Milwaukee bureau has deployed agents to assist local authorities in the investigation, as the community grapples with the aftermath of this heartbreaking event.

While making it harder to enter a School or Classroom there’s absolutely nothing to stop Mentally Unstable Shooter to wait for recess, lunch or PE to happen outside. Until they start training and Arming Teachers and remove those Stupid Gun Free Zone signs because it’s obvious to everyone a Criminal does not and will not ever allow a stupid sign to stop them. 1 thing and only 1 thing stops a Criminal or the Mentally Unstable from Shooting and that’s Training and Arming enough Teachers and Administrators that they realize a School is no longer worth the effort. Then we do the same with Malls and Movie Theaters and basically everywhere younger people go in big numbers. Once a few suspected mass shooters get gunned down at the doorway it will immediately stop 95% of this madness. This Country has over 3 Million Veterans who are Retired that would do this Security at Schools for free I’d asked. Quit making and passing more Gun Laws because again they Obviously are not working. Bring back a Manditory Death Penalty for any and every crime in which a gun is used whether is Shot or not. This way we can start getting rid of the Criminal instead of passing more Stupid Laws the Criminal won’t obey. Laws only Stop the Law Abiding People and the harder it becomes to own a gun the easier job the Criminal has. Make Laws so Severe that the Criminals will start to leave the Gun and every other weapon alone.

Identifying these persons ahead of time, is key to teaching the citizens, what to look for and who to keep an eye on so that these shootings can be stopped before they start. When the police and school systems start sharing children who need to be watched because of their behavior or their speech or their actions that are not normal. I’m sure, if everyone remembers what lead up to this incident, you will see, something stands out from this person that would have given everyone alarm, and could have been shared with everyone from the parents right on down to the school administrators. Something happened to cause this, that is what we need to know. If the investigators don’t inform the public of what that was, we will never understand why this person did this, and that is key. So someone needs to make sure we understand what problems this person was dealing with and why they thought it necessary to shoot the people they shot. The answer is out there, and the family and the police investigators must give the public all the answers that they can and not hide or disregard anything. These shootings happen too often and the key is WHY.
