Westman changed his name from Robert to Robin in 2020 with his mother’s consent, as he identified as female, according to Minnesota records.

The shooter targeted students and staff by firing through the church’s stained glass windows, resulting in tragic casualties.

The police report that Westman brought a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, using them to unleash dozens of rounds and attempting to barricade exits with wooden planks.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara shared that the gunman aimed at children and tried to keep them trapped within the building.

Videos believed to be from Westman’s YouTube account displayed threatening messages on weapons such as “Where is your God?” and “Kill Donald Trump.”

One video included a target showing an image of the crucified Jesus, indicating hostility toward Christian symbolism.

In a video cited by Mary Margaret Olohan, the shooter is heard saying,

“I can’t deal with this anymore…I can’t do this anymore…I have to go, I have to go…”

before declaring,

“I’m all packed up … I don’t know what else to say. It’s over. It’s over. It’s all over.”
