Clear Facts

  • Donald Trump has been named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” for the second time.
  • Trump was chosen over notable figures such as Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, and Benjamin Netanyahu.
  • His 2024 campaign was marked by legal challenges and political victories, culminating in a win over the incumbent president.

Time magazine has once again recognized Donald Trump, the President-elect, as its “Person of the Year.” This accolade, which he first received following his 2016 election victory, places him among thirteen U.S. presidents who have been similarly honored.

Trump’s selection comes after a tumultuous yet triumphant 2024 campaign. Despite facing legal trials and surviving a gunshot to the ear, he emerged victorious in the election, securing the Electoral College and all seven battleground states.

The Republican Party also achieved significant wins, gaining majorities in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.

In his acceptance speech, Trump declared his commitment to “make America safe, strong, prosperous, powerful and free again.” He has since been actively shaping his administration, announcing key Cabinet nominees from his Mar-a-Lago residence and engaging in foreign policy discussions with global leaders.

Time’s decision to honor Trump this year saw him surpass other finalists, including Vice President Kamala Harris, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.

As part of his post-election activities, Trump is scheduled to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

In addition to Trump, Time has recognized other notable figures, such as WNBA star Caitlin Clark as “Athlete of the Year,” Advanced Motor Devices CEO Lisa Su as “CEO of the Year,” and music legend Elton John as “Icon of the Year.”

I don’t think I have ever been more proud to be an American and that is saying a lot for an 85 year old. I’ve been watching the country go down the tubes since the 1960s. The USA is the largest biz in the world and we continually elect politicians that know little about running a huge company.
We finally have a good ole down home common sense biz man like we have always needed.

If this works well this term, the I think we ought to skip any of the politicians, good as they are, and draft Don Jr. to run in 2028 and keep a biz man at the helm!!!

He earned this honor for keeps when he stayed in the race after just one assassination attempt.
