Blue State Departures Alarm Democratic Strategists

  • Former Obama aides Dan Pfeiffer and Jon Favreau are concerned about population shifts from blue to red states affecting future Democratic electoral prospects.
  • Texas and Florida are projected to gain congressional seats, while California and New York are expected to lose seats by 2030.
  • Pfeiffer emphasizes the need for Democrats to adapt their strategies and rebuild their coalition, particularly among Latino, black, and young voters.

In a recent episode of the “Pod Save America” podcast, former Obama aides Dan Pfeiffer and Jon Favreau voiced their concerns about the potential impact of demographic shifts on future presidential elections. These shifts, primarily from traditionally blue states to red ones, could pose a significant challenge to the Democratic party’s electoral strategy.

According to projections, Texas and Florida are expected to gain four congressional seats by 2030. In contrast, California and New York are set to lose four and two seats, respectively. This population movement could reshape the political landscape, making it imperative for Democrats to reassess their approach.

Pfeiffer urged Democrats to engage in “massive work” to rebuild their coalition and adapt to the evolving political environment. He highlighted the need to address the party’s diminishing support among key demographics, stating, “We have bled massively with the most core parts of our coalition — Latino voters, black voters, young people — and that is an ongoing trend.”

The recent electoral victory of President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris was partly attributed to his increased support from Hispanic and black men, as well as young voters. Pfeiffer expressed concern that the Democratic party might not be doing enough to address these challenges.

“And it just feels like the same people are doing the same things they were doing six months ago,” Pfeiffer commented. He stressed the importance of rethinking communication strategies and not relying solely on past messages.

Pfeiffer also warned about the potential implications of the 2032 electoral map, urging the party to confront difficult questions about its future. “We have massive work to do to reconfigure our coalition,” he said, emphasizing the need for introspection within the party.

Favreau echoed these concerns, noting that blue states could lose electoral votes due to population shifts. This trend is evident in recent estimates, which show that California lost approximately 500,000 people between April 2020 and July 2022, while New York saw a net population decrease of over 100,000 between July 2022 and July 2023.

As the Democratic party grapples with these challenges, the need for strategic adaptation and coalition rebuilding becomes increasingly crucial.

The party has been hijacked by Obama. What was once a moderately liberal and progressive party of the Kennedys and Bill Clinton, is now a far left party, threatening the country in the exact same manner they accuse Trump of doing. Trump is a centrist. The party does not care about working people, absolutely hates Jews, and, as with any extremist party, is intolerant of deviations from the party line. The more unreasonable and extreme the party has become, the more people have come to hate it. I was a Democrat for almost all of my life, but I do not see a single Democrat I could support. You are NOT progressive, you are regressive. Stalinist, fascistic, and, to a great extent, Nazi. Nazis are genocidal antisemites, and, with the Nazi rat squad and all the other Jew hating monsters controlling the party, this party has become a National Socialist Party. I grieve, as do many people I know. Other than President Trump, I hate the GOP. But at least they do not enable and cheerlead Islamist Nazis. My whole family were Democrats going back generations. Unless you kick the Nazis to the curb, you lose anyone who has a conscience.

Well, Well, as we see from Obama and his minions, nothing has changed. The entire country has just told the ruling power(s) of the democratic party they are fed up with all their woke crap, lies, manipulation of “our government” and laws, misuse of our tax dollars, allowing unvetted foreigners to flood into our country for the sake of future votes…and what are they talking about? How best to consolidate their power for a future return to power to begin their crap all over again. For my money I hope Trump et al goes after every leftist radical democrat with all of his capability including the courts, law enforcement and the IRS. Its past time allowing these people to wreck this country founded by the Constitution. If these people or anyone else doesn’t like our Constitutional form of government, freedom of religion, individual rights and the rule of law then leave, go to Cuba, Veneuzuela, North Korea, China, Russia, Iran and a few other places where you will fit right in! The American people are guaranteed power and rights by the Constitution, now all we need is to have sane, moral Americans running the government and not woke, lgbtprqy leftists, illegal aliens, Muslim sympathizers and greedy powewr hungry radical leftist democratic pariahs!

Thankfully the former “core parts” of the demonRAT coalition, the people they “took for granted for decades” have come to their senses and see the demonRATS have NOTHING to offer them except “mass misery” the hallmark of liberalism / socialism. The demonRATS have nothing to offer America in the future except misfits like Kamala Whorris, Gov, Nuisance of CA and a few other empty suits. There are no reserves they can turn to.

You might notice that each of these states have the highest taxes of all 50 states.
