President Donald Trump’s older sister was recorded saying that her brother “has no principles” and “you can’t trust him,” according to a report Saturday by The Washington Post. Maryanne Trump Barry made the cutting remarks to her niece Mary Trump, who was secretly recording her.

Barry was working as a federal judge in 2018 and at one point, she was discussing the president’s actions to separate immigrant children from their parents.

“All he wants to do is appeal to his base,” she said, unaware she was being recorded. “He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean, my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people — not do this.”

“His goddamned tweet[s] and lying, oh my God,” Barry continued. “I’m talking too freely, but you know, the change of stories, the lack of preparation, the lying — holy shit.”

Before the conversation occurred between Barry and Mary Trump, the president earlier suggested on Fox News that he might “put [Barry] at the border” and assign her to make immigration decisions. Barry believed her brother hadn’t read her decisions or he would know they wouldn’t likely agree on issues.

“What has he read?” Mary Trump asked Barry. She replied: “He doesn’t read.”

Barry also said: “It’s the phoniness of it all. It’s the phoniness and this cruelty. Donald is cruel… Donald is out for Donald, period.”

Mary then asked her aunt what her uncle, the president, had accomplished on his own, she answered: “Well, he has five bankruptcies. You can’t trust him.”

Mary Trump became one of the fastest-selling authors of all time after her tell-all book — “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man” — sold almost one million copies on its release date.

The Post has gotten hold of the audio excerpts of the taped conversations after Mary Trump told the publication that some of the information in her book came from hours of face-to-face talks with her aunt in 2018 and 2019. It was Barry who told her that the president had paid somebody to take the SATs for him, according to Mary Trump.

Barry has never spoken publicly about her issues with the president.

During the interview with The Post, Mary Trump said that her uncle is unfit to be president and she aims to do “everything in my power” to vote for Joe Biden, the newspaper reported.
