White House dismisses risk for Biden after Pelosi gets Covid-19

- Pelosi tested positive for COVID-19 early Thursday.

The White House dismissed any concerns that President Joe Biden is at risk of contracting COVID-19 after spending time with Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday. Pelosi was tested positive for the virus early that day.
On Wednesday, Biden and Pelosi were together at a White House event marking the Affordable Care Act. Former President Obama was also present at the event.
Citing CDC guidelines, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Thursday that Biden president was not considered a close contact of Pelosi’s. She noted that the two spent less than 15 minutes in close proximity to each other.
“The way a close contact is defined, it’s not arbitrary, it’s not something made up by the White House, it’s CDC guidelines, and how they define it is being within six feet for a cumulative total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period. They were not. All of their interactions were publicly available, I think you saw them, and that’s how that assessment is made,” Psaki said.
Biden tested negative for Covid-19 on Wednesday evening.
Earlier, the White House said Biden and Pelosi had “brief interactions” over the last two days at White House events.
A reporter reminded Psaki that the CDC also recommends wearing a mask for 10 days in public for people who had close contact with an infected person.
“If he is a close contact, that is what exactly he will do,” Psaki replied.
During Wednesday’s event, Biden was seen kissing Pelosi on the cheek.
When Psaki was pressed on how that would not qualify as close contact, she again cited the 15 minute level of contact guideline from the CDC.
On Friday, the president will host an event with Ketanji Brown Jackson, who was confirmed to serve on the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Vice President Harris is expected to join the event at the Soth Lawn. Her communications director Jamaal Simmons tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Though considered a close contact, VP Harris would go about her previously scheduled public appearances.
Harris tested negative on Thursday.
Despite the CDC guideline on mask-wearing after having close contact, the vice president did not wear a face-covering on Thursday during Jackson’s historic confirmation vote.

for 2 years little kids, teens, college age, parents, EVERYONE, had to not only stay inside because of the Fauci/democrat lockdown and wear masks inside to boot, and stay at least 6 feet apart, but also had to wear masks everywhere we went, or got screamed at by cops and liberal “karens”. And yet, Pelosi didn’t have to wear a mask while illegally getting her hair done, her moron nephew, Gavin didn’t have to wear one while entertaining a party in wine country, crown prince Fauci maskless at a ball game, Obiden, Harris and the rest of his admin didn’t need to wear one outside in the rose garden, or at INDOOR news conferences, Obiden/Pelosi hugging and kissing MASKLESS in a photo op while she knew she had covid. I’m really sick and tired of all the communist, liberal whackos double-standards. RULES FOR THEE, NOT FOR ME!!!! Re-open GITMO, quick!!
