Liz Cheney says Jan. 6 committee found enough evidence to refer Trump for criminal charges [Video]

The House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot has enough evidence to refer former President Donald Trump for criminal charges, Rep. Liz Cheney said Sunday.
However, the panel hasn’t made a final decision on how to proceed on a referral, the congresswoman told Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
The New York Times reported Sunday that the select committee is divided on whether to move forward with the criminal referral. Some panel members are concerned that the Justice Department’s investigation into Jan. 6 would be politicized unnecessarily.
Last month, U.S. District Court Judge David Carter ruled that the former president “more likely than not” attempted to illegally obstruct Congress in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Cheney referred to that ruling for evidence against Trump.
The Wyoming congresswoman also pointed to a plea agreement for one of the Proud Boys leaders, which “lays out in really chilling detail the extent to which violence was planned.” Cheney said also noted that Trump tweeted out “Be there. Be wild” on Dec. 19, 2020, calling on his supporters to Washington on Jan. 6.
“It’s absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing, what a number of people around him were doing, that they knew it was unlawful,” Cheney said.
“I think what we have seen is a massive and well-organized and well-planned effort that used multiple tools to try to overturn an election,” she added.
The Republican congresswoman denied earlier reports that there was a dispute among members of the January 6 House panel in terms of how to proceed with their findings. The committee consists of seven Democrats and two Republicans — Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
“I wouldn’t characterize there as being a dispute on the committee. I think that it is the single most collaborative committee on which I have ever served. I’m very proud of the bipartisan way in which we’re operating,” Cheney said.
Cheney added that she’s “confident” that the panel members “will work to come to [an] agreement on all of the issues” that the committee is facing.
“So, I wouldn’t say that it’s accurate right now to say that there’s a dispute on this issue,” Cheney explained.

I truly feel Pity for Democrats: The ONLY way they can impeach him THREE (bogus)TIMES, is if they DON’T prevent him from running, but if he runs they know they’ll lose. My prediction is even the possibility of third impeach is too enticing for criminals to resist.

Bi Partisan is of no concern the evidence collected is of concern and that evidence is hard evidence in every aspect, evidence which will hold up in a court of law. I would say anyone with two brain cells that work together and are no trying to be blind know that Trump broke many laws of the USA while President, in fact the historians say Trump broke more US laws he swore in his oath of office to make sure those laws were followed as written by Congress. Trump supporters act like a mother trying to justify that son who got shot while holding up a store, never looking at the facts open eyed, just believing everything that they choose to believe, while ignoring the actual proven facts.

The “Committee” needs to be very careful with their decision. They have way more to worry about than Donald Trump does! When the Republicans hold the House and Senate again, the investigations will turn in the other direction, and the American public was able to WATCH, on TV, the criminal actions of the Democrat politicians in setting the President up with fake allegations, charges that the Rino’s and the liberals MANUFACTURED to try to make Trump look guilty. But WE SAW THEM DO IT, JUST LIKE WE SAW THEM FALSIFYING THE VOTE COUNTS, in multiple states and multiple counties and cities!! They will get much more than they expect, and it’s ALL documented! We didn’t have to make it up, manufacture evidence or lie to the American people, they dug their own political graves!
