WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Three police officers in Crawford County, Arkansas, were suspended Sunday after a video surfaced online of a violent arrest.
  • The video shows the three officers brutally beating the suspect they arrested while he was pinned on the ground.
  • The man was taken to a hospital for treatment and then booked in the Van Buren County jail on multiple charges.

Three Arkansas law enforcement officers were suspended after a video that shows a suspect being pinned down on the ground and beaten, sparking social media outrage.

Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante issued a statement Sunday evening, stating two county deputies will be suspended during the course of the Arkansas state police’s investigation into the incident and the sheriff’s office’s internal investigation. A Mulberry police officer also was suspended.

“I hold all my employees accountable for their actions and will take appropriate measures in this matter,” Damante said.

In a statement released Sunday evening, Mulberry Police Chief Shannon Gregory said the officer involved in the incident is on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The city of Mulberry and the Mulberry police department takes these investigations very seriously,” Gregory said.

According to police, a report indicated that a man was making threats to a convenience store employee in Mulberry on Sunday morning. Mulberry is located about 137 miles (220.48 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock.

Police said when the officers confronted the man, he pushed a deputy to the ground and punched the back of his head, leading to the arrest seen in the video.

Three law enforcement officers are seen in the video. One can be seen punching the shoeless suspect with a clenched fist, while another can be seen kneeing him, and a third is holding him down.

The unidentified man was arrested and taken to a local hospital. He faces charges of terroristic threatening, resisting arrest and other assault charges, police said.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Sunday night on Twitter that the “incident in Crawford County will be investigated pursuant to the video evidence and the request of the prosecuting attorney.”

A little excessive, but, when you hit an officer, you’re going to get phucked up……and rightfully so.

I guess that’s true in a Police State.

Obviously you did not see what happened before that. A calm person, not resisting arrest, is not beaten for no reason by cops.

The officers should all be fired, and possibly charged with the crime of battery. Regardless of what the Perp allegedly did, there is not viable reason for the officers stupid behavior. Once the person was pinned on the ground, he should have been cuffed and put in the back of the squad car – nothing more.

Well CANDYGRAM sounds like he or she’s making a comment from what she see’s on the video and what he apparently did according to the charges, on the other hand CHARLIE BOY who sound like he might have been standing right there WATCHING the whole thing unfold (PROBABLY NOT) states that the man was CALM (but he was presumably in a confrontation with a store clerk) and NOT resisting arrest (yet when the police confronted him he, again presumably, pushed one to the ground and punched him) has anybody noticed that all the information in this story came from the police, the video just shows the police pounding on the guy, nothing showing he pushed and punched one of the officers, and absolutely NOTHING from the store clerk, who in my guess might have seen the hold dame thing, where’s his statement which the police should have taken when everything was under control. CHARLIE’S stupid COMMENT sounds like he’s trying to start some kind of trouble that really doesn’t need to happen.

These were not police officers they were pig thugs. There is no need to see anything that happened before the pigs attempted to murder the suspect. Three pigs brutally beating, kneeing in the kidneys, holding him down and trying to force his head around to get several possible killing blows to his face when it is pinned to the pavement and when the pig was having trouble he commenced to beat his head to the pavement. These are gang bangers in blue . I am looking for attempted murder on all three of the PIG THUGS!

Yeah..sorry…re-read it..but nevertheless they used extreme force which should not be tolerated and this has led to the call to defund the police. They are their own worst enemies.

The police should be kind and gentle to murderers and robbers. The police should love them, as they have been all Biden’s rule. Results ? – see San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit.

To be fair to the cops, the poison of the 2nd Amendment which enables every thug and criminal in the US to get their hands on guns, puts the police at enormous risk of their lives!!! So I don’t blame them for being aggressive ….. UNTIL they are sure there is no weapon involved! The problem in this case, is that, just because they were wearing uniforms, they felt that that enabled them to beat the ***** out of someone they decided was a bad person.
I’m curious as to why almost every other civilized country on the planet does not allow their police to behave in this manner. There is something in the US that enables the police to militarize themselves, but outside the control of the Constitution.

I don’t doubt that the POS deserved everything he got! But, our society only allows us to murder babies, not to deliver the appropriate punishment to a menace to our society.

Don’t punch an officer . Lesson learned! Play stupid games. You get stupid prizes. Comply peacefully and this won’t happen. Officers are tired of thier brothers getting taken advantage of and getting shot on routine stops.
