Clear Facts:

  • Painter Andrew Jackson filed a lawsuit against Bill Belichick’s management company after an alleged injury at the coach’s Massachusetts property.
  • The legal action seeks about $300,000 in damages tied to medical expenses and lost wages from a 2024 fall.
  • The filing claims the construction site lacked proper safety measures and failed to meet required inspection standards.

North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick faces a legal challenge involving his Nantucket residence. The lawsuit alleges unsafe construction practices led to a worker’s serious injury on the property.

Andrew Jackson, a painter, filed the suit against Forty Five Fair Street LLC. The company is managed by Belichick and oversees the property purchased for $4.8 million earlier this year.

Jackson says the conditions at the site were hazardous. He claims the fall caused severe bodily injuries, including a significant ankle injury.

“As a direct and proximate result of the fall, plaintiff sustained serious bodily injuries including a severe right ankle injury, together with pain, disability, medical expenses, lost wages, and other consequential damages.”

The lawsuit says Jackson is pursuing third-party negligence despite receiving workers’ compensation. It argues the ownership failed to maintain a reasonably safe work area.

“Defendant breached its duties by, among other things: a. causing, permitting, or allowing unsafe conditions to exist at the premises; b. failing to maintain the work area in a reasonably safe condition; c. failing to inspect the premises adequately; d. failing to remedy hazardous conditions it knew or should have known about; e. failing to warn Plaintiff of dangerous conditions; and f. otherwise acting negligently in the ownership, operation, management, supervision, maintenance, and control of the premises.”

The filing says the management company should have properly inspected the area. It also cites a failure to warn workers about dangers during the renovation process.
