- A ransom note was reportedly sent to media, but police have not confirmed its authenticity.
The search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, intensified after investigators released footage displaying a blood trail outside her Arizona home.
This new evidence comes as law enforcement continues to chase leads in this high-profile disappearance.
According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, investigators are trying to determine if the perpetrator took the Ring doorbell camera from the premises.
The video footage was provided to the media as the search efforts escalate.
Shortly after the video surfaced, reports emerged claiming a media outlet received a ransom note demanding cryptocurrency for Nancy’s safe return.
“Or else.”
Police have said that the note included details that match the crime scene as well as references to clothing belonging to Nancy.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, as Nancy was last seen on Saturday night and went missing after failing to attend church on Sunday.
Officers previously indicated there were signs of forced entry at her home and suggested she may have been taken from her bed.
It remains unclear if the blood seen in the video belongs to Nancy Guthrie.

This kidnapper walked up and went through that door like it wasn’t there. Why don’t people take security more seriously? Specially these days. Simple strong outer security door and alarm system/panic alarm and maybe secondary security door on the bedroom door and this woman would not have been kidnapped. Any relative of a famous person is a target. People do a security audit of your home.
I recently showed my wife via watching videos online that our front and side doors could easily be kicked in by anyone who knew how vulnerable they actually were. Now we have outer steel security doors with reinforced jams and motion sensors. We also replaced our bedroom door with a door made of steel designed as an outer door with reinforced hinge area 3.5 inch screws and a dead bolt with steel anti kick jam plate that is 12 inches ling. That goes from above the deadbolt to below the lock set and has 10 3.5 inch screws. This simply makes the door kick proof. Any one who walks in and kicks it will simply hurt themselves.
With steel outer security and inner security doors and motion sensors. For not a lot of $$ our home is 10 times more secure. Could some one still get in? Yes but it would take them a long time to get in then get through the bedroom security door. This time, 15 minutes, would equal the response time for the local sheriff is 911 was called.
This is really all it takes but this woman had a glass front door that allowed the kidnapper to be go right through by breaking the glass, unlocking the door and being in the woman’s bedroom in 30 seconds. You call that security? I call it insanity. Can some one kick in your front door and be at your bedside in 30 seconds? If so you have ZERO security. Fix now or cry later after some one walks right in and hurts or kills you or your family.
