GOP ‘shadow committee’ issues own report on Jan. 6 security failures

A group of Republicans issued the findings of their counter-investigation into the Jan. 6 riots ahead of the select committee’s release of its own official report on Wednesday.
The group is composed of would-be members of the Jan. 6 committee House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) put forward to serve on the panel but withdrew them after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) balked at the inclusion of Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Jim Jordan (R-OH).
The GOP report focuses on how Capitol Police were unprepared for the 2021 riot that tried to halt Congress from certifying Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.
Along with Banks and Jordan, three other Republican lawmakers McCarthy offered up for the panel — Troy Nehls (R-TX), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), and Rodney Davis (R-IL) — place the blame for the situation getting out of hand on Democratic leaders for not shoring up security.
“When Speaker Pelosi made the unprecedented decision to reject Jim Banks and Jim Jordan from sitting on the January 6 Select Committee — we knew she intended to play politics instead of addressing the massive security failures that lead to that day,” the group said in a statement.
“We said then that we would investigate and get to the bottom of why the Capitol was left so unprepared that day, and what needs to be done to make sure our security apparatus is never left so unprepared again,” the group added.
The GOP report claimed Democrats, who had the majority in the House, were responsible for the security of the Capitol complex and that directions to the House sergeant-at-arms came solely from them without input from Republicans. It argued that security measures were compromised by politics and concerns over optics, leaving the Capitol Police unprepared for the riot.
The report opens, “Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021. The Democrat-led investigation in the House of Representatives, however, has disregarded those institutional failings that exposed the Capitol to violence that day.”
The GOP report focuses on testimony from anonymous U.S. Capitol Police and intelligence officers, as well as Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger, House Sergeant-at-Arms William Walker, and Assistant Director of the Intelligence and Interagency Coordination Division Julie Farnam.
The findings include evidence that an overhaul of the Capitol Police’s system for vetting intelligence was overhauled in the weeks before the riot. This was compounded by insufficient training and supplies for the police force, the Republicans argued, as well as direction from Democratic leaders apparently founded on politics and optics.
The Jan. 6 committee’s report focuses mostly on former President Donald Trump’s role in the riot, while its appendices walk through the police and other security forces’ lack of preparation and control over the riot.

With a even further invest, it will be found that the democrat party’s FBI had imbedded agitators with in the mostly peaceful protests to stir up the protestors, Ray Epps being just one of many!

Absolutely TRUE. Plus there were officers scheduled to be at the Capital Jan.6, who were called that morning and told they wouldn’t be needed. The officer who stated this also said he was surprised based on the expected crowd. I think Pelosi/FBI kept people who could be bought/bribed/threatened, and told the white hat/good officers they wouldn’t be needed, because the white hats would have seen what the black hats and FBI were doing and no doubt would have tried to stop them, report them, etc. And we know the dirty players wanted no witnesses to what went on.

I truly wish this group of GOP representatives could have had their unbiased report of the Jan 6 happenings closer to the same time as the politically driven Democratic linch mobs report. The speaker of the house has had a hate vengeance for President Trump from Day1. She was the driving force behind the instigators who aggravated the demonstration on Jan 6. She has used her powers to make President Trump a scapegoat of her bulshit along with the rest of the repulsive Democratic party. They are obviously afraid of President Trump who would not stand for the democratic politicians deceiving dishonest bribery . That is all they are, politicians, with their hands out for personal gain. With total disregard of what they do to their country. President Trump had turned things around while he was in office. President trump is direct with his candid actions in the way he ran the country. This made the crooked Democrats fear him, and the other countries respect him. He reminded me of the Great late JFK, with a little less refinement.

I am wondering at what point this shadow committee discussed the fact that if Trump hadn’t told people to march on the Capitol, there would not have needed any additional security. They want their day in court? They wouldn’t show up to a subpoena so what makes you think they want to be put on a stand under oath? Hilary again? Trump and Miller had their own servers and their own phones. Let’s not forget all the classified documents he illegally stole. Tax returns show definite fraud and obvious violation of the Emoluments Clause. Every comment here has been debunked by the J6 Committee report. Gym Jordan can try and sweep his culpability under the rug of misdirection but I am pretty sure the DOJ is ready to punch his ticket.

Facts point to the incompetence of the democratic party. He told people to march peacefully and let thier voices be known. The attack began before his speech was over. So this was planned way before his speech. Why show up for a subpoena for a unconstitutional fake partisan attack. How many classified documents does Obama have in hid “me” library? His tax return show no personal income while he was in office. His business was separated from him while he was in office. DOJ has no case on any Republican that will last 5 minutes in court.

So what is going on is the democraps arrested and hold who they say are criminals acting as a solo government. The Republicans don’t do anything to actually be involved in defending those same people arrested. It just looks like two separate governments of different countries doing what’s best for themselves.
No real form of truth, justice and the American way is at all being done from either side.
Those arrested are just political prisoners in a battle of who controls the country and can steal Tax Payers Money without any worries of going to prison themselves.

Interestingly neither side covers the “why” of the 1/6 riot. The fact that half the countries voters were unset that their suspicions were never adequately addressed, IE machines code and workings were not fully investigated, sworn affidavits were never fully investigated and many poll watchers claims were summarily dismissed without full investigation. Both sides pointing the finger of blame for political posturing totally missed an opportunity to win the peoples confidence and clear up problems that continue and will, till they are resolved. I could not be more ashamed of our politicians and judges, all of them, particularly SCOTUS. Our MSM goes beyond contempt.

Many good observations but IMHO there is one point being missed. A bit of stage setting: the dems didn’t have sufficient cheats in place in 2016 – and lost. The made sure all of the cheats were in place in 2020 – and ‘won’. Now they are doing everything they can to prevent DJT from even running again or damage him so badly they won’t have to employ all of their cheats again.
Here is a bit of speculation: they will continue to push the J6 narrative to the point of actually bringing ‘charges’ and then ‘offer’ him a deal – drop out and we will drop the charges. Not a sure bet but highly probable.
