Dramatic bodycam footage captured a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputy pulling a woman from a burning car following a forceful carjacking. The rescue occurred after the suspect fled with the woman’s 1-year-old child still in the back seat.

Deputies located the stolen vehicle a short distance away and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect crashed into another vehicle, causing a fiery wreck.

Deputy Almin Residovic rushed to the crash scene, calling for a tool to break the window. After opening the car door, he found the trapped woman with her hair on fire.

“Oh, there’s a person bro!” Residovic is heard exclaiming in the footage.

Without hesitation, Residovic pulled the woman from the flames and administered emergency aid until additional help arrived. Authorities later said a 14-year-old had escaped before officers got there.

“Please stay with me,” Residovic told the injured woman. “Stay with us. Come on. We need to get you away from the car. … Just hang out, you’re OK.”

Residovic later told a fellow responder, “Bro, I got to her just in time. Literally, [at] the last second, I got to her.” The car burst into flames only moments after the dramatic rescue.

Another deputy removed the unharmed 1-year-old from the stolen vehicle. The suspect, Richard Younger, 34, was arrested at the scene and faces several felony charges.

The sheriff’s office praised Officer Residovic’s bravery and rapid response, stating, “We are incredibly proud of Officer Residovic’s courage and the swift, coordinated response of all the officers involved.” The rescued woman is reportedly continuing to recover.
