WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The Jan. 6 House committee subpoenaed Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone following Cassidy Hutchinson’s explosive testimony on Tuesday.
  • The former White House aide testified under oath that Cipollone raised concerns about then-President Trump’s plans on Jan. 6, 2021.
  • According to Hutchinson, Cipollone told her that there will be “serious legal concerns” if Trump “goes up to the Capitol that day.’”

The Jan. 6 House committee announced Wednesday that it has subpoenaed former White House counsel Pat Cipollone after Cassidy Hutchinson’s Tuesday testimony.

Hutchinson, a top aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified before the panel that Cipollone expressed concerns about former President Donald Trump’s desire to go to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“The Select Committee’s investigation has revealed evidence that Mr. Cipollone repeatedly raised legal and other concerns about President Trump’s activities on January 6th and in the days that preceded,” committee chairman Bennie Thompson and vice-chair Liz Cheney said in a statement announcing the subpoena.

During Hutchinson’s Tuesday testimony, she discussed Cipollone multiple times, telling lawmakers that he pushed back on Trump’s desire to go to the Capitol on January 6.

“On January 3rd, Mr. Cipollone had approached me knowing that Mark [Meadows] had raised the prospect of going up to the Capitol on January 6th,” she said. “Mr. Cipollone and I had a brief private conversation where he said to me, ‘We need to make sure that this doesn’t happen. This would be a legally a terrible idea for us. We’re — we have serious legal concerns if we go up to the Capitol that day.’”

She said she and Cipollone had a similar conversation the morning of January 6, before the rally at the Ellipse.

“We’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable if we make that movement happen,” Hutchinson recalled Cipollone saying.

She said Cipollone was particularly concerned about “potentially obstructing justice or defrauding the electoral count,” in the days leading up to January 6. In previously recorded testimony played at the hearing, she said that he was also concerned that it would look like they were inciting a riot.

John Wood, who was the investigative lawyer for the Jan. 6 committee before he resigned last week, told CBS News on Wednesday that subpoenaing Cipollone was a “necessary step” because it’s “really important” for the committee to speak with him.

Cipollone’s name has come up repeatedly during the Jan. 6 hearings, mentioned by witnesses as a White House figure who attempted to stop the president and his allies from taking illegal and destructive actions related to the post-election period.

At the end of the fourth hearing, the committee’s vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney, called on Cipollone to testify voluntarily, noting his rare vantage point into Trump’s actions after the election.

“Our committee is certain that Donald Trump does not want Mr. Cipollone to testify here,” she said. “Indeed, our evidence shows that Mr. Cipollone and his office tried to do what was right. They tried to stop a number of President Trump’s plans for Jan. 6.”

This entire “ Hutchinson testimony” is a pack of lies! She quotes” hearsay” as facts, was not present for any of the accusations she made, lied about other people “ supposedly” involved. She should have to take a lie detector test, which she would fail. She has perjured herself to get five minutes of fame, and should be prosecuted to lying under oath. Will she? NO, cheyney set her up to do this, so she will skate!

Desperation is such a lonely predicament. The jan6 committee needs something to do that’s more relevant to this country’s terrifying and catastrophic dilemma that has plagued the United States with disaster! They should be investigating the voters who carelessly and criminally chose Joe Biden to become president. They should all be prosecuted for stupidity!, then striped of their privilege to ever cast such a devastating vote again,! and sentenced to undergo full-scale lobotomies, so this disaster they’ve ignorantly caused never happens again! lol! Hallelujah Brother! lol! Get to work, Liz Cheney!

Once again the Demon-crats have wasted million of dollars on there dog and pony show. If anyone should be arrested it should be the J6 committee for fraud for wasting all the money that they have. The big surprise witness was nothing but hearsay, sounds like the dossier that Hillary produced.

Where in the hell is the concern about Burn Loot Murder,BLM and antifa. Are AMERICAN citizens less important than the idiots in government that are destroying AMERICA,ABSOLUTELY NOT.Most of the AMERICAN citizens have to work for a living, unlike liberal politicians and the entities that have figured out how to live off of the AMERICAN taxpayer.

I would add that President Trump is correct in his statement about the J6 committee; they are trying to do their utmost to stop him from running again to guarantee their lives will continue un-
impeded in the DC Swamp. $$$,$$$,$$$

My biggest concern beyond the fraud and cost is that those who have been found guilty and for perjury do not get prosecuted. with this there is no penalty, so on and on it goes
