WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Paul Pelosi’s alleged attacker, David DePape, reportedly had a “hit list” including Hunter Biden, Gavin Newsom, and Tom Hanks.
  • DePape said he had told Paul Pelosi that he was “not going to be stopped here” since he had “other targets.”
  • DePape ranted in a police interview about the “evil” perpetrated by the Democrats and other left-leaning figures.

The man who allegedly attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer reportedly had a “hit list” that included Hunter Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and actor Tom Hanks.

The statement was from a court testimony from San Francisco Police Sgt. Carla Hurley on Wednesday.

Hurley said that suspect David DePape admitted such in a post-arrest interview, which was played for the court. According to Hurley, DePape told her his other targets, which also included Gayle Rubin, a University of Michigan professor who writes on queer theory, sex, and gender.

DePape, 42, ranted against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats, and other left-leaning figures. He said that his break-in at the Pelosi residence with the intention of kidnapping the speaker was only part of a wider crime spree.

DePape declared, “There is evil in Washington. It’s this f–ing record-breaking crime spree! The Democratic Party was for the past four years — This was f–ing insane … So not only were they spying … they were spying, covering it up … They go from one crime to another crime, it’s the whole f–ing 4 years.”

DePape said that once he got inside the Pelosi residence, he “explained” to Paul Pelosi that he was “not going to be stopped here” since he had “other targets.”

DePape said in a police interview that he was prepared to go on a “suicide mission” since he was “not going to stand here and do nothing.” Hurley added that DePape “mentioned two different times that if officers shot him, they would not miss and he was ready for that.”

Reports from the District Attorney noted that DePape used a hammer to break into the Pelosi residence’s back door early on Oct. 28 and confronted Paul Pelosi, 82, in the bedroom. Paul still managed to call police, who arrived at the scene to find him and DePape fighting over a hammer. DePape hit Pelosi before he was subdued by police and brought to custody.

Police found another hammer, gloves, and a laptop in DePape’s backpack.

Assistant DA Phoebe Maffei said that Paul Pelosi sustained two skull fractures, a circular indentation and chipped bone on the right side of his head, and hand lacerations. He underwent surgery and was returned home a few days after.

DePapre faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide and first-degree burglary charges, and other federal charges that could lead to 50 years in prison.

The judge scheduled DePape’s next arraignment on Dec. 28.
