In a recent appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” former border czar Tom Homan shared his perspective on President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. Homan argued that Biden’s approach has intentionally deviated from the strategies of his predecessors, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, leading to a significant increase in illegal immigration.

Homan pointed out that during Obama’s presidency, both Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, who is now the Secretary of Homeland Security, were involved in implementing policies that successfully reduced illegal immigration.

“Why do I think he did it on purpose? Because Joe Biden was vice president under Barack Obama when he had those record removals,” Homan stated. He emphasized that under Obama, family residential centers were built, and most immigrants who lost their cases were deported, resulting in a decrease in border crossings.

However, Homan noted that Biden and Mayorkas have taken a different approach since taking office.

“So both those men [Biden and Mayorkas] knew how we solved that crisis. When it came back in, as the now secretary and the president, what did they do? The complete opposite,” he explained. Instead of continuing proven policies, they opted to release immigrants rather than ensuring they faced a judge.

Homan speculated that these policy changes might be strategically motivated to increase Democratic influence. He suggested that the administration might be aiming to boost the number of Democratic voters and impact the House of Representatives through changes in the census count.

“I think this administration thought these millions of people are gonna be future Democratic voters,” Homan said, adding that Biden’s reversal of the Trump census rule could result in more seats for Democrats in the House.

Homan also accused Mayorkas of misleading the public about border security, contrasting his actions with Trump’s rapid measures to secure the border. Despite Mayorkas’ claims, data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicates millions of illegal immigrant encounters since the beginning of the fiscal year 2021.

In response to the current administration’s policies, Homan highlighted that the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ramped up its deportation efforts, surpassing the previous administration’s actions by threefold.
