  • The Federal Communications Commission released raw footage of Kamala Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview, revealing significant edits by CBS News.
  • Donald Trump accused CBS News of election interference, claiming the edits misrepresented Harris’ responses.
  • Trump has filed a lawsuit against CBS News, seeking $10 billion in damages for alleged news distortion.

The recent release of raw footage from Kamala Harris’ interview with “60 Minutes” has stirred significant controversy, particularly among conservative circles. The footage, unveiled by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has shown that CBS News made substantial edits to Harris’ responses, raising questions about media integrity and potential election interference.

During the interview, Harris was questioned about the United States’ influence over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the broadcast version, she appeared to provide a clear and concise answer. However, the raw footage tells a different story, revealing a response filled with the kind of “word salad” for which Harris has become known.

President Donald Trump has been vocal about this issue, stating that “CBS and 60 Minutes defrauded the public by doing something which has never, to this extent, been seen before.” He further claimed that the network’s actions amounted to “Election changing ‘stuff,’ Election Interference and, quite simply, Election Fraud at a level never seen before.”

CBS News has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the broadcast was not manipulated deceitfully. They explained that the edits were made to include as many of Harris’ answers as possible while fairly representing her responses. Despite these denials, the FCC has received a formal complaint from the Center for American Rights, prompting an investigation into potential news distortion.

The release of the footage has also led to legal action. Trump has filed a lawsuit against CBS News and “60 Minutes,” seeking at least $10 billion in damages. The lawsuit accuses the network of “malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion calculated to confuse, deceive, and mislead the public.”

This legal battle could have broader implications, potentially affecting the planned merger between CBS’ parent company, Paramount, and Skydance. Reports suggest that Paramount executives are considering a settlement to resolve the lawsuit, though without admitting any wrongdoing.

As the FCC seeks public comment on the news distortion complaint, this issue continues to unfold, with significant ramifications for media credibility and the political landscape.

Is anybody surprised?. The news people maliciously edited the broadcast to show Harris in a better light and Trump in a worse light. All I am reading are weasel words regarding them and Harris. I hope the merger fails and just maybe they will return to a more balanced news service. It did not work with CNN though. The court costs must be paid by the media company. Perhaps they should consider ‘retiring’ some of the editorial staff?.

The facts speak for themselves. Seeing the two versions totally debunks CBS claim that it was not done to be deceitful. Literally changing the words she spoke by omitting words could have no other reason than to deceive and tamper with the election. CBS should lose it’s license to broadcast anything. That is how serious this fraud is.

The edited version shown to the voters was a total misrepresentation of her actual interview. The actual newly released interview showed Ms. Harris is incapable of answering a question clearly and precisely. She avoids the reality of the question while her brain ‘roller skates’ in a vacuum of totally different subjects.
Yes, in my opinion, the network’s attempt to hide her ineptitude was an intentional effort to smoke screen the voters and present her in a more acceptable light interfering with the election.

By altering her words they are trying to change the results of the election. Interference at its worse. They ought to be ashamed to be called news people. Walter C. must be turning over in his grave at todays “journalists”.

Trump is a pampered baby who whines about everything that is not stuck into his mouth on a silver spoon. His first term ended with twenty-seven lies a day concluding with “the big lie.” If he would ever own up to one of his many character flaws and mistakes, I might listen to him. Since he lies constantly, I never know if he might be telling a truth. The situation is made worse because the media allows his lies to persist. I will say that Harris’s word salad is better than Trump’s.

So, Ron, you said President Donald J Trump lies constantly so you never know when he is telling the truth? If all statements are lies, then none are true. Sounds like you have a fried Logic chip there Skippy, they do become faulty with TDS.

FCC just reported that the Harris interview on Sixty Minutes “was not doctored nor deceitful.” Could it be that Trump is caught in another lie? Should one ever believe him?

Ron, who claims the FCC said it isn’t deceitful, is yet another liberal liar, Carr, the head of FCC is entertaining further action against CBS.
Maxx, is spot-on, it’s more than harming Trump, it’s Venezuelan like in terms of a country’s citizens being defrauded, and seriously harmed. The FCC should
Restrict/remove their broadcast license,and/or a requirement for new leadership, new policies.

Cap’n and Gary, thanks for keeping away from name-calling as many of these become. Since it seems that a central theme of the messages seems to be lies, let’s start there. I appreciate the Cap’n’s comment, but he did not read closely. I (Ron/Ronald) said that Trump constantly lies which is different than being incapable of telling a truth. Therefore the leap the Cap’n makes takes him to the wrong conclusion. I have a hard time determining when Trump is not lying. I would accept the FCC’s comments of no attempts to deceive as more valid as they have nothing to gain by lying while that is a modus operandi for Trump. Accuse without proof just because someone disagrees with him.
