President Donald Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill is on the verge of passing through Congress, and it carries a substantial benefit for the American people. This legislation is primarily focused on addressing illegal immigration, a key mandate from voters in the last election.
Central to this bill is a proposed $45 billion allocation to bolster Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This funding is intended to increase detention capacity to 100,000 beds, a move that aligns with the findings of a 2023 Pew Research study indicating that 60 percent of Americans favor stricter immigration enforcement.
The bill also earmarks $14 billion, with an additional $650 million designated for deputized state and local law enforcement. This is in line with a provision in the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows collaboration between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and local agencies to enforce federal immigration laws.
Recognizing the importance of manpower, the bill proposes $8 billion to more than triple the number of deportation officers from 5,000 to 15,000. This ensures that there are enough agents to carry out the mass deportations effectively.
In addition to these measures, the bill allocates $1.3 billion for ICE’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), the largest legal program within DHS. This funding will support the recruitment of more immigration lawyers and staff to manage the increased caseload from the mass deportation initiatives.
The bill also provides for signing and retention bonuses for ICE personnel, acknowledging the challenging nature of their work.
Further investments include $200 million for fleet modernization and $700 million for technology enhancements. These funds will upgrade transportation assets and modernize ICE’s digital capabilities, ensuring efficient enforcement operations.
This legislative package marks a significant shift in immigration policy compared to previous years under the Biden administration. It reverses the trend of allocating billions to NGOs for housing and resettling illegal immigrants, instead focusing on empowering ICE to enforce immigration laws effectively.
Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill promises to deliver an ICE agency equipped to handle mass deportations and maintain border security, a move that many see as a much-needed change. For those who support stricter immigration enforcement, this bill is like a gift that keeps on giving.

thank you, President Trump! It’s about time that our elected officials are implementing law that protects citizens rather than illegal immigrants.
It is great to see that our hard earned tax money is going to benefit American citizens instead of those who seek freebies without earning them or giving anything back.
