Arizona governor fills border wall gaps with shipping containers [Video]

- Gaps in the U.S.-Mexico border wall along Arizona have been filled with double-stacked shipping containers to prevent illegal crossing.
- Authorities have called out Gov. Doug Ducey’s project as unlawful, but he argued that the land belongs to the state.
- Governor-elect Katie Hobbs said that she will look into removing the containers when she assumes the position in January.
Republican Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona made sure to continue filling up the gap of the U.S.-Mexico border wall with double-stacked shipping containers before Democrat Katie Hobbs assumes the position in January.
According to the Associated Press, the governor started filling up gaps in President Donald Trump’s border wall in western Arizona back in August.
In an August press release, Ducey reported having closed off “five wide open gaps in the border wall near Yuma neighborhoods and businesses.”
As of last week, over 900 metal containers have been double-stacked to create a makeshift wall up to 17 feet high.
Federal and local authorities have called out the project as unlawful. Environmental activists also warned that it could block natural water systems and endanger local species.
In October, Ducey filed a lawsuit against federal officials over their opposition, arguing that the land belongs to the state.
U.S. attorneys called for the lawsuit to be dismissed, arguing that despite the “difficult” issues at the border with Mexico, “trespassing on and damaging the United States’ lands … are not the solution.”
This weekend, Arizona’s sheriff called the construction “illegal dumping” on public land and vowed to block it.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff David Hathaway told FOX 10 Phoenix, “The area where they’re placing the containers is entirely on federal land, on national forest land. It’s not state land, it’s not private land, and the federal government has said this [is] illegal activity.”
This year has seen a record number of encounters between border officials and migrants.
Last week, Hobbs said that she has been looking into “all the options” to remove the shipping containers when she takes over as governor in January.
Before her election in November, she told KYMA, “These kinds of things are just political stunts that are not really solving issues at the border.”

We need to stop illegals from crossing the
borders. Millions have already been allowed in by our senile president. We have our own homeless that need to be helped and also
Vets that need help. No one is doing anything for them. This is a travesty.

Before commenting here, suggest u read Art 4, Sec 4, of US Constitution. If feds were acting to stop the illegal invasion of AZ, might be different issue. States have to act because feds do not want to. Why is this issue not itself in litigation?

So what is Hobbs’ plan to stop the illegals? She doesn’t have one ! She is on the side of Biden and his handlers, plus she DID NOT WIN! She declared herself the governor! Kari needs to keep the lawsuits coming, and sue Hobbs for rigging the election in her own favor! This farce needs to be stopped, Arizonans need to demand a re do on the election and not allow Hobbs, Richer or Gates to have any part in it. If that doesn’t work, Hobbs should be impeached and removed.
