  • Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden criticized President Donald Trump’s COVID-19 handling during his address on Tuesday in a school in his hometown in Wilmington, Delaware.
  • In his speech, Biden laid down his plans on how to mitigate the coronavirus pandemic, such as doubling the number of testing sites and fixing the protective gear shortage.
  • The former vice president also took questions from the press where he called one reporter a “lying dog-face” after it pressed continuous questions about his mental deterioration.

Democratic Presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden lambasted President Donald Trump for his COVID-19 handling during an address on Tuesday where he also held a press conference for the first time since March.

Speaking at a school in his Wilmington hometown in Delaware, Biden accused Trump of wasting three months of mitigating the virus outbreak — saying that US was lagging until now.

“It’s almost July and it seems our wartime president has surrendered, waved the white flag and abandoned the battlefield,” he said.

“We don’t need a cheerleader, Mr. President. We need a president, Mr. President,” the former vice president added.

During his speech, Biden laid down his strategy in dealing with the pandemic over the rapid growth of new cases. He thinks that the number of testing sites should be maximized and supplies of protective equipment supplies should be fixed.

The presumptive Democratic nominee also answered questions from the press for the first time in months after he was accused by the Trump campaign of hiding in his basement.

The 77-year-old politician flared up when one reporter brought up the issue about his mental deterioration at age 65 and asked him if he had been tested for cognitive decline.

Biden was visibly annoyed at the reporter who continuously asked questions as he attempted to leave the place, and said, “You’re a lying dog face.” But then he added that he was “constantly tested.”

“All you gotta do is watch me and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against,” he said.

During a campaign event in New Hampshire last February, Biden infamously called a female college student a “lying dog-faced pony soldier.”

Asked about his thoughts on the Russian bounty intelligence report that Trump was briefed but failed to respond, Biden also took offense on Trump’s cognitive abilities, an attack which his presidential rival usually uses against him.

“He talks about cognitive capability. He doesn’t seem to be cognitively aware of what’s going on. He either reads and/or gets briefed on important issues and he forgets it or he doesn’t think it’s necessary that he needs to know it,” Biden said.
