Biden tells voters to focus on his ‘energy level’ not his age in 2024

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Joe Biden wanted to reassure Democratic voters that he “is in good health” and “functioning well” should he seek re-election in 2024.
  • The 79-year-old president hopes voters will focus on his “energy level” and not his age.
  • A recent survey shows that 64% of Democratic voters believe the party should nominate a different candidate for president in 2024.

President Biden told MSNBC in an interview on Sunday that he hopes voters focus on his “energy level” and not his age if he decides to run for reelection in 2024.

Biden, who will turn 80 next month, said last week it is his “intention” to run again in 2024, but he has not made a formal decision yet. He is the oldest president in history and would be 86 at the end of a second term.

“In terms of my energy level, in terms of how much I’m able to do, I think people should look and say — can he still have the same passion for what he’s doing?” Biden said in the MSNBC interview.

“I’m in good health. All my, everything physically about me is still functioning well, so you know, and mentally too,” Biden added.

The 2024 election is still two years away.

Biden acknowledged this in the interview, saying he’s currently in good health but could “get a disease tomorrow.”

“I could drop dead tomorrow,” he said.

In a New York Times/Siena College poll published in July, roughly 64% of surveyed Democratic voters said they believe the party should nominate a different candidate for president in 2024.

About 33% listed Biden’s age as their primary reason, while 32% said it had to do with his job performance.

Former President Trump said at a rally on Saturday he “will probably have” to run for president again in 2024.

Would that be the energy level where he fell asleep yesterday while talking to a reporter?

Sooo much energy 🤣🤣. Falls going up stairs not one time but 3 times on the same stairs, can’t remember where he is, Doesn’t remember peoples names, talks about dead baseball player like the guy was alive and it happened two days ago, Asks where is the dead lady & why she isn’t present at his little speech, falls down while on a bicycle that isn’t rolling, grabs a reporter and shakes her for asking a question he doesn’t want to answer & can’t answer without sounding like an idiot , forget about not being able to pronounce some words as the ones he just makes up out number them by 20 fold and this is just a very short list of things he’s failed at without saying anything about how much he has already drove the country into the ground. And now digging an even bigger hole to put the country into. So no Traitor Joe we not impressed with your energy because you screwed up the country’s energy as well !!!

I hope he gets reelected. It’s been a long time since we had a president die in office. Our chances are high with Joe. His slogan could be, I’ve been dying to be president all my life.

I honestly didn’t think he would last this long. I guess dementia is a slower death than I thought

Someone on his staff should tell him, “Joe, you don’t belong in the White House. You died yesterday. Go to Delaware while we plan your funeral.”
