WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Joe Biden said Thursday that he’s tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Biden, who’s been double vaccinated and double boosted, is experiencing “very mild symptoms” and has begun taking Paxlovid.
  • The president posted a video on Twitter, telling Americans that he is “doing well.”

President Joe Biden said Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the president is experiencing “very mild symptoms” and has begun taking an antiviral therapy Paxlovid. It was prescribed by Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, who said 79-year-old Biden started having symptoms — a runny nose, fatigue and an occasional dry cough — on Wednesday evening.

The president will work remotely from his residence at the White House. He is advised to self-isolate for at least five days, according to CDC’s current guidelines. Jean-Pierre said the president has been contacting members of the White House staff by phone and participating in meetings “via phone and Zoom.”

“Once he tests negative, he will return to in-person work,” Jean-Pierre added.

“Out of an abundance of transparency,” she added, “the White House will provide a daily update on the president’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, who was last with the president on Tuesday, tested negative. First lady Jill Biden also told reporters she tested negative on Thursday morning. She is in Detroit at the moment.

In a follow-up tweet, Biden said he was feeling “great.”

The president is fully vaccinated and twice-boosted. He got his first two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in January 2021. In September he was administered a Pfizer booster shot in and received the second one in late March.

Biden had appeared maskless at several events in recent days, including at an event in Somerset, Mass., on Wednesday, shaking hands with supporters on a rope line as he was surrounded by current and former lawmakers.

The White House Medical Unit is in the process of contacting anyone who interacted with Biden on the trip, Jean-Pierre said.

News of Biden’s positive test comes amid a surge in cases across the United States that is being driven by more transmissible Omicron subvariants, such as BA.5.

95 percent of the public that caught the virus before there was ever a vaccine had very mild symptoms. Loss of taste or smell for most people. That was it! I got a headache and a slight fever for four days, and it never stopped me from doing anything. The people I know who took the vaccine and all the boosters all got sick, and some got real sick. Some have been sick three times after being vaccinated!
I’ve havent been sick again, and other people I know who never took the vaccine have been sick again after being sick before there was ever a vaccine. I am certain that a natural immunity to that virus and its mutations is far stronger than bidens poison vaccine that causes some people serious problems

Has anybody that is not part of the syndicate seen his COVID test. It seems like a good way to keep Slow Joe from his typical babble when asked a question when out in public.

What about contact tracing. He should be on Remdisavir. I don’t know how to spell the death drug.

It amazes me that the media will take Biden’s word for anything. His doctor must give us the updates!!

Forget the covid test. Let’s all see results of a cognitive test!!! Why don’t we? He would fail it miserably.

He does not have covid-19 . It is another scam and President Trump will end up being blamed for his death in some sort of sick way .
