WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Cassidy Hutchinson is reportedly in hiding after testifying before the Jan. 6 committee, according to The New York Times.
  • Hutchinson delivered explosive claims about Trump’s actions around the Capitol riot.
  • The former White House aide was bombarded with threats of violence after last week’s testimony.

Star witness Cassidy Hutchinson went into hiding with her family and a security detail after making explosive new claims in the January 6 hearings about former president Donald Trump, The New York Times reported.

Hutchinson, a former White House aide, in bombshell testimony at a live committee hearing on July 3, said that Trump had sought to lead a mob to the Capitol on January 6, but was prevented by the Secret Service.

The New York Times on Sunday reported that the committee rushed to get Hutchinson to testify at the hearing, amid concerns Trump allies were seeking to interfere with her testimony and that details of her account would leak.

In the wake of her testimony, Trump disputed the truth of her account, claiming he barely remembered her, and that she was a “social climber.” Other Trump allies have also sought to damage her credibility.

The Times report described Hutchinson as “unemployed and sequestered with family and a security detail” following her testimony, which alienated her from many of the Trump officials she worked with.

Hutchinson was an aide to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and according to the Times was among officials tasked with securing congressional support for Trump during his first impeachment trial.

The Times reported that Hutchinson formed a bond with Rep. Liz Cheney, the ranking Republican on the committee, who has faced criticism and political ostracization after for calling for the GOP to rid itself of Trump’s influence.

State election officials who testified to the committee described facing a wave of threats from Trump supporters after coming under pressure from the former president to help overturn his defeat in the 2020 election.

“Unemployed’, how can she afford private security? Did the Jan. 6 witch hunt pay her for her testimony?

The first thing that she said wrong was that this person called the January 6th protest a mob, which it wasn’t.A mob is BLM,ANTIFA and others that are burning and looting. Why are politicians different than the AMERICAN citizens that pay their wages that they really don’t earn.
