WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Rep. Charlie Crist of St. Petersburg won Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial primary on Tuesday, beating Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried.
  • Crist will face off against incumbent Gov. Ron DeSantis on November 8.
  • The Democrat lawmaker served as Florida’s governor from 2007 to 2011, when he was a Republican.

Rep. Charlie Crist will face Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the November elections after winning the state’s Democratic gubernatorial primary on Tuesday. The Democrat lawmaker was Florida’s governor from 2007 to 2011, serving in the role as a Republican.

Crist beat Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried with nearly 60 percent of the vote. Fried, who received 35 percent of the votes, was favored to win the Democratic nomination before Crist entered the race.

Fried, 44, made headlines for being a staunch proponent of abortion rights after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. She is also known as a vocal critic of Gov. DeSantis.

In a press release sent from the Florida Department of Agriculture, Fried said that the Republican governor “has turned classrooms into battlegrounds to fight his culture wars and divide our state.” In July, she had called on DeSantis to denounce a group of Nazi demonstrators who marched outside a conservative event displaying both swastikas and signs expressing support for the governor.

Crist, 66, had also attacked DeSantis in his campaign, calling him “a wannabe dictator” and “the most arrogant governor I’ve ever seen in my life.”

This is Crist’s third attempt to be Florida governor. He was successful on his first run as a Republican and served for a full term. In 2010, he launched an unsuccessful bid for U.S. Senate as an independent and lost to Marco Rubio.

Crist officially joined the Democratic Party in 2012 and then launched another run for governor in 2014. He was beaten by Rick Scott, a Republican. He was eventually elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016.

DeSantis has made a national name for himself in recent years and is seeking reelection. Many speculate that he might be targeting higher office in 2024.

The governor has downplayed those rumors, saying speculation about a 2024 presidential campaign is “purely manufactured.”

Though DeSantis remains close-lipped about a possible presidential run, a political source said that he “is popular with Florida Republican voters, which is a good indication of how he would do nationally. He is not afraid to speak out on unpopular issues, and even more important than that, he is not afraid of Donald Trump.”

Charlie Cris is not sure who HE IS, once he was a Republican, then he was Independent, and now he is a liberal Democrat! The
sad thing is “we the people seem don’t know what he is and keep voting him into power”

Crist is only interested in power and money. No matter what party he can slide into. And with o-biden in the presidency he has a sure spot to suck upto at the expense of the citizens of Florida.

Crist was a failure as a one term governor so he changed party’s and was a loser there until he landed in the house. Now he wants to run as a democrat because he running on O’Biden’s coattails and that is another failure for him. He needs to slide back into the swamp and disappear.

EDWARDS probably has a point, if her empty F—ING HEAD isn’t up CHUMPS FAT ASS she has it up DESANTIS’ SORRY ASS, anybody who votes for MURDERING ASSHOLE TRAITORS like CHUMP, DESANTIS, RUBIO, CRUZ, AND GREENE, it makes sense that SOMEBODY WITH a brain wouldn’t have a chance and that’s because the IDIOTS doing the voting are also MINUS a BRAIN, like DIP SHIT BLAND, if CRIST is running on BIDEN’S coattails and is only interested in power and money then I guess YOU should also say all the TRAITORS that CHUMP BACKED must be KISSING his FAT ASS so they can have the power and money, CHUMP tried to TAKE the power and failed, but he sure got the MONEY when he BRAINWASHED all you F—ING IDIOTS into giving him $250,000,000 which is more PROOF there isn’t enough matter to but together 1 BRAIN.

You are really a foul-mouthed individual! Fortunately, people like you are ignored by all but a few like-minded others who are also ignorant of what is really happening in today’s world. Also, neither I nor anyone else have contributed $250 millions dollars to his campaign. I would love to have that much money!
