Democrats: AOC could seek restraining order against Greene
- Senior Democrats reportedly considered the possibility of having Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seek a restraining order against GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
- The Republican congresswoman had recently shouted at AOC while chasing her down a hallway outside the House chamber.
- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called out Greene’s behavior as “verbal assault” and “abuse,” while AOC called Greene “deeply unwell.”
Senior House Democrats have reportedly discussed the possibility of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seeking a restraining order against GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after the Republican shouted at her colleague outside the House chamber earlier this month.
But Ocasio-Cortez may need to seek the restraining order herself, Democratic sources told Politico.
There have been several other past incidents of Greene targeting Ocasio-Cortez even before the Republican took her House seat.
Greene and her associates taunted Ocasio-Cortez’s staffers and vandalized the congresswoman’s guest book outside her Capitol office back in 2019.
As the two lawmakers left the House chamber on May 12, the Georgia congresswoman chased Ocasio-Cortez down a hallway and shouted at her, accusing her of supporting “radical socialism” and terrorists. The incident was witnessed by reporters, including two from the Washington Post.
The Post reported that Greene had shouted at Ocasio-Cortez: “You don’t care about the American people. Why do you support terrorists and antifa?”
The May incident prompted Ocasio-Cortez’s team to urge congressional leaders to “take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place.”
Top Democrats, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, called for an investigation into Greene by the House Ethics Committee. Pelosi called Greene’s behavior toward Ocasio-Cortes “verbal assault” and “abuse.”
Ocasio-Cortez believes Greene is “deeply unwell,” and that “this is an assessment that needs to be made by the proper professional.” She added that Greene’s “fixation” on progressive lawmakers have started to worry her and other House members.
Meanwhile, Greene mocked Ocasio-Cortez’s safety concerns in a tweet that read: “@AOC ‘Ms. Defund The Police’ wants to call the police for security bc she’s afraid of debating with me about her socialist GND. AOC is a fraud & a hypocrite. That’s fine Sandy. Since you lack the courage & intelligence to debate me, I’ll debate the person who really wrote it.”

I’m surprised that AOC even knows what a “restraining order” is, the ignorant piece of human excrement didn’t even know what a garbage disposal was and thought we could land a man on the sun by simply doing it at night !!!! If this idiot were to actually obtain a restraining order, which would HAVE to come from a totally liberal judge, every republican should chastise every word that ever came out of her racist deluded pie hole forever.
