DeSantis tops Trump in 2024 primary match-up: poll

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has overtaken former President Trump in a hypothetical 2024 match-up for the GOP presidential nomination, according to a new Yahoo News-YouGov poll.
The nationwide poll, released Thursday, shows DeSantis with a 5-point lead over Trump, with 47 percent of registered voters backing the governor compared to 42 percent for the former president.
The latest results, taken in the first few days of December, are a stark turn from a mid-October poll that found Trump ahead by 9 percentage points, with 45 percent to DeSantis’s 36 percent.
Trump announced his third run for the White House just a week after the November midterm elections, following disappointing results for the Republican Party and losses from some of Trump’s own high-profile endorsees.
Three weeks after Trump’s announcement, he faced several bad publicities including hosting dinner for antisemite Kanye West and white supremacist Nick Fuentes at his South Florida mansion. His ambition to be a midterm kingmaker was crushed after big losses, the most recent being Herschel Walker in Georgia. He also suggested terminating some rules in the Constitution. The most recent blow was when Trump Organization was convicted on all 17 counts in a tax fraud case in New York City.
DeSantis coasted to reelection during the midterms, adding fuel to speculation of a 2024 presidential run, though he hasn’t announced his candidacy.
The latest Yahoo News-YouGov poll adds to growing evidence that many in the Republican Party are turning away from the former president and looking toward a new generation of GOP leaders.
In October, 49 percent of Republican voters said they wanted to see Trump as the nominee over “someone else,” but that figure dropped to 41 percent in December.
Conducted from Dec. 1 to 5, the poll surveyed 1,653 U.S. adults and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.

I feel that PRESISIDENT TRUMP had the country prosperous,but the democRATS were so jealous of success by PRESIDENT TRUMP that it made them so totally ashamed of their agenda that they couldn’t fix due to their agenda of corruption and payback.The only thing that they had left was to totally smear trump and the real PATRIOTIC AMERICANS.THE CONSERVATIVES.

Use your brains people, individually or collectively. Look back at the nightmare that was the 4 years of Trumps Presidency.
He was the best, well one of 3 of the best presidents ever, but the Swamp tied him up, chewed him up and spit him out. Of what value to waste a great Gig? Do people not understand: We need strong Conservative Governors to lead their states, our collective country? To Groom Leaders, To insure the CONSEVATIVE Flavor so the people arent wiped out by Communism at the Grass Roots?
DeSantis has time to run in 6 years, but not now and waste his time getting hammered in WDC. He needs to finish here, run for Pres in 2028 and then come back as Gov, because you can only hold 2 consecutive terms either way, but a Gov can take a break a Press cant.
No One will make headway until the RINOS are gone, the Mitch McConnells have been removed for Treason and the McCarthy’s who only get brave when up for reelection. It is sickening that Republicans have turned into an extension of the Liberal Demonic party. Get RID of RINOS and Run DeSantis, but until then its a waste f a great governor and two years wasted for Florida
