Kristin Cavallari ended her relationship with her father after an incident involving her children. She described the breach as crossing a major line that could not be overlooked. The decision followed a pattern she said had affected her for years.

The former reality star discussed the matter on her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari.” She explained that her father never attempted to reconcile after the events. Cavallari also noted that she does not hold personal anger toward him.

“I cut my dad out of my life because he crossed a major line — a major line — and it involved my kids, and you don’t get to do that actually, you know? And that’s another boundary and really obviously pissed him off, and he’s never once tried to get back into my life, which I think is pretty telling,” she said.

Cavallari emphasized that her children have worked through the situation. She said the incident affected them but that none of them carry ongoing anger. The mother of three stated that her father still texts the children and that she does not interfere.

“I would never wanna carry that around of like, ‘F— my dad,’ you know? I think what he did to my kids was pretty bad,” she explained. “But also my kids and I have talked about it a million times, and we’ve worked through it, but [it] like really affected them and will probably have affected them for the rest of their lives and, and none of us, my kids included, are carrying around anger towards him.”

Cavallari made clear that any relationship between her children and their grandfather is their choice. She said she supports their decisions and will not force them to cut ties. The three children are Saylor, Jaxon, and Camden, whom she shares with former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler.

“If they wanna have a relationship with him, I want my kids to,” Cavallari explained. “That’s their choice.”

Cavallari previously compared her marriage to Cutler with the pattern she experienced with her father. She said she has focused on personal growth since the divorce to avoid repeating past mistakes.
