WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Rapper Kanye West chose Michelle Tidball, a 57-year-old spiritual coach, as his vice-presidential running mate.
  • Aside from having a comprehensive religious background, Tidball claimed that she has numerous degrees on mental health and criminal justice.
  • Tidball said that West was just “doing fine” after the rapper made a controversial rally in South Carolina last month.

Singer rapper Kanye West had already tapped his vice-presidential running mate. Her name is Michelle Tidball, a 57-year-old spiritual coach who lives on a ranch in Cody, Wyoming. She has a deeply religious background and leads a nonprofit Bible study program called Abundant Ministries.

Tidball became an executive director of the Bright Futures Mentoring Program, a Cody-based student mentorship scheme, according to her website, which was now removed.

“My Heart has always been to walk in maturity and to bring other’s maturity to be about His business and see the completion of things He mandated before the foundations of the world. I look forward to bringing the word with experience and practical counsel on walking as mature adopted sons manifested upon this earth,” her biography said.

She also highlighted in her website that she held numerous diplomas on mental health and criminal justice. As reported by TMZ, though, her only known degree is her undergrad in psychology which she earned from the University of Wyoming in 2003. Based on her biography, she had 10 years of experience as a mental health therapist before becoming a life coach.

TMZ also shared a now-deleted Bible teleconference in June 2017, where Tidball said that mental illness could be managed by doing household chores.

“If you would get up every day and make your bed and do your dishes — you would be better,” she said.

In that same teleconference, Tidball said she doesn’t watch the news.

According to The New Yorker, Tidball also works in a dental office. Though she has not disclosed any other career information.

A religious studies scholar and high school classmate of Tidball at the University of Wyoming, Mary Keller told The New Yorker that “Michelle was the bubbly, charismatic cheerleader.”

Keller also described Tidball as smart, saying: “I think she knows Hebrew pretty well.” Tidball’s website is filled with Hebrew.

Both of them led a youth group in 2016, where Tidball characterized herself as an “online prophet.”

Tidball sent a statement to the Daily Mail after West made his controversial South Carolina rally in mid-July. She said that West was “just fine.”

It is still unclear whether the public would see more of Tidball as West continues with his presidential campaign.

Tidball’s multiple websites have been taken down after being chosen as West’s VP. In her now-deleted site, she shared that she aims to help people “get ‘unstuck’ in their lives using biblical principles and wisdom.”
