WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Former Vice President Mike Pence will headline Gov. Brian Kemp’s rally in Georgia.
  • The move is a mark of a new split with Former President Donald Trump, who supports his rival in the GOP primary.
  • Trump has targeted Kemp for refusing to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday announced that he will support Gov. Brian Kemp’s campaign in his reelection bid in Georgia. The move means he is breaking with former President Trump again. Trump is supporting former Sen. David Perdue in the Georgia GOP primary.

Pence said he will join in a May 23 get-out-the-vote rally with Kemp on the eve of Georgia’s May 24 gubernatorial primary, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Pence said in a statement that Kemp is “dedicated to faith, family and the people of Georgia.” He described the governor as “one of the most successful conservative governors in America.”

“He built a safer and stronger Georgia by cutting taxes, empowering parents and investing in teachers, funding law enforcement, and standing strong for the right to life,” Pence said in the statement.

The move from Pence comes as Kemp has been a continued target of Trump after refusing to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

The former president, on Wednesday, released a statement criticizing Kemp and his supporters, saying “Today, the worst ‘election integrity’ Governor in the country, Brian Kemp, loaded the great state of Georgia up with RINOs,” an acronym that stands for “Republicans in name only.”

Kemp receives the support of a number of other top Republican figures, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts.

Previously, Pence split with Trump on issues regarding his 2020 election loss, saying “President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election.” That’s after Trump falsely suggested that the former vice president was authorized to overturn the election results.

The winner of the Republican primary in Georgia will face Democrat Stacey Abrams in November. Abrams lost to Kemp in 2018.

When you look at who Kemp has surrounded himself with it is hard to not identify these people as part of the swamp although they try to identify as Republicans. I hate the Democrats and what they stand for these days but they stick together regardless of the consequences. When was the last time anyone saw high profile democrats campaigning for a candidate not endorsed by their leaders. Now it is clear that these republicans, so called, are afraid that President Trump will, and has, outed them and spoiled their do nothing ways. In the case of Kemp, there is a saying that fits him best. “It is best to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt”. Trump has another quality that these RINO’s fear and that is he is an honest American and for the people.

Whatever the voters do in Ga, Keep Abrams out of the Governor’s house. Abrams is another certified socialist/Communist, Abrams is also after one’s 2nd Amendment rights. Abrams also contributed to the corruption of the integrity of the voting process. Buyer beware……..

Our country was thriving when Trump was president. Trump not being a long term corrupt lying politician was good for our country. He ran it as a smart businessman not a money hungry graft seeking politician. I truly believe the 2020 election was rigged by these liberal/democrats.,Trumps rallies were massive.Ol Joe stayed in his basement. Common sense. Who would vote for a elderly cognitive declining failed politician? Biden is destroying our country in so many ways. We the taxpayers are suffering.Last straw, baby formula shortage. Biden sends a warehouse full of formula to the illegals at the border. Take care of the American people first.
