RFK Jr.’s HHS Nomination Passes Senate Panel, Heads to Final Vote

Clear Facts
- The Senate Finance Committee advanced Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
- The vote was 14-13 along party lines, with Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy casting the decisive vote.
- The Republican majority in the Senate suggests Kennedy is likely to be confirmed.
In a significant move, the Senate Finance Committee has propelled Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services to a final floor vote.
The committee, which is under Republican control, voted 14-13 along party lines. This narrow decision was influenced by the pivotal vote of Louisiana Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy. Despite being a doctor with reservations about Kennedy’s vaccine stance, Cassidy’s vote was crucial in advancing the nomination.
Given the current composition of the Senate, Kennedy’s confirmation seems almost certain. The Republicans hold a 53-47 majority, and with GOP Vice President JD Vance available to break any ties, the numbers are in Kennedy’s favor.
Even if up to three Republicans were to oppose his nomination, Kennedy could still secure the position of HHS secretary. This scenario underscores the strategic advantage the Republicans currently hold in the Senate.

It would be wonderful If all the Republicans would be supportive of Mr Trumps careful selection of candidates.
Also would be wonderful If for a change New YOrk would admit their city needs to be cleaned up, crime reduced and support the trump objective. Must be a terrible experience to live there now

Horrifying that this whacko whose own family cannot stand might get this position because of a bunch of spineless Republicans who are afraid of upsetting Trump Felon 47.
