President Donald Trump retweeted a claim on Monday morning that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is lying about COVID-19 in an effort to impede his reelection campaign.

Chuck Woolery, the original host of “Wheel of Fortune,” who is also a conservative, wrote the original tweet that read, “The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust.

“I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.”

Trump and his supporters have previously expressed doubts against the CDC and other health experts.

In recent weeks, the president has accused various organizations of working against his reelection campaign.

As the coronavirus promoted states to promote expanded mail-in voting, Trump repeatedly claimed that mail-in voting leads to fraud.

Experts suggested that it was Trump’s strategy to discredit the 2020 election results if he doesn’t win.

Trump has also continually undermined experts throughout the coronavirus crisis.

The president had refused to wear a face mask in public up until Saturday.

His administration has also been attempting to discredit Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s leading epidemiologist, according to a recent report.

The Washington Post cited sources that said Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House’s coronavirus task force response coordinator, claimed that there’s “nothing from the CDC that I can trust.”

According to another report, the White House has also repeatedly denied the CDC the right to hold its own public briefings about the coronavirus outbreak.
