WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Marking his first political campaign, Kanye West suddenly broke into tears when abortion was brought up, sharing that he and wife Kim almost had their first child aborted.
  • The rapper rumbled various unrelated points and drew different reactions from the attendees.
  • West argued, among others, that Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, but only made them work for white people.

During his first presidential campaign on Sunday,  Kanye West crumbled in tears, made an offensive comment about Harriet Tubman, had a jeerer taken out of the venue, and said his brain was too big for his head.

At one instance during his disorganized speech, West claimed Harriet Tubman never really gave the slaves freedom, and instead had them employed by white people. At another minute, West started crying when he admitted that he and his wife Kardashian West once thought of having an abortion, and his father did not want him born as well.

Sporting a bulletproof vest, West was not also accurate in discussing other topics such as social media, and his Adidas deal, throughout the pointless speech at Charleston, South Carolina’s Exquis Event Center.

The guest’s reaction,  who were admitted through registration only, varies from sympathy to aversion at different points.

Following the comment West made about Tubman, who is responsible for setting many slaves free through the “Underground Railroad,” a spectator said he would leave. Kanye then suddenly shifts into announcing that there are no Black owners on both the Universal Music Group and National Basketball Association.

West required the audience to be silent and orderly during his speech and even urged viewers to mention anyone they heard chatting.

The rap artist reprimanded the crowd for applauding at a time and even ejected an audience at one point for no reason.

The event, which was earlier announced on the same day,  was attended by around two hundred people. They were all told to agree on a coronavirus liability release form, wear face protection, and maintain a safe distance.

West seemingly announced his presidential bid via Twitter during the Fourth of July weekend. Politico news outlet reported that West made the plan official by filing with the Federal Election Commission a statement of candidacy last week declaring The Birthday Campaign (BDY) as his political party.

On Saturday evening, he also asked his followers through Twitter to sign an appeal to put his name on the South Carolina ballot. However, ABC News reports that West missed the deadline this week in filing for independent candidacy in South Carolina.

South Carolina state prohibits write-ins for its candidates.

However, West was able to cut in Oklahoma this week by posting a fee of $35,000 before the deadline’s cut-off deadline in place of petition signatures procedure. The periods to list as a write-in candidate have lapsed in several states, but are said to have an August and September extension.

The star will now then have a slim chance to get sufficient numbers in his petition to include him on the ballots on the concerned states.

Many fans were shocked to see West is committed to his presidential race. Politico reported, though, that he had not been listed in any crucial voting polls.
