In a decisive move shortly after her swearing-in, Attorney General Pam Bondi has taken immediate action against sanctuary cities by instructing the Department of Justice (DOJ) to cease their funding. This bold step aligns with the Trump administration’s firm stance on immigration enforcement and is expected to ignite legal battles with major cities like Chicago, Boston, and New York City.
Bondi’s first-day memo clearly states, “Consistent with applicable statutes, regulations, court orders, and terms, the Department of Justice shall pause the distribution of all funds until a review has been completed.” The memo further emphasizes the need to “terminate any agreements that are in violation of law or are the source of waste, fraud, or abuse.”
The Attorney General has also directed the DOJ to identify and halt funding to non-governmental organizations that support illegal migrants. This move is part of a broader strategy to ensure that “sanctuary jurisdictions should not receive access to federal grants administered by the Department of Justice.”
Bondi’s actions are the latest in a series of escalations between the Republican-led federal government and Democrat-led cities that oppose President Trump’s immigration policies. The DOJ had already established a working group to investigate sanctuary cities, and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is conducting its own investigation into the practices of cities like Boston, New York City, and Chicago.
The term “sanctuary” generally refers to policies that limit local cooperation with federal immigration authorities. While local officials are not required to assist in federal immigration enforcement, the Trump administration has made it clear that obstruction will not be tolerated. As Bondi’s memo states, “Actions that impede federal efforts to enforce immigration law threaten public safety and national security.”
The Senate confirmed Bondi as Attorney General with a vote of 54 to 46, with notable support from Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who broke ranks with his party. This confirmation marks a significant step in the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to enforce stricter immigration policies across the nation.

The stop of funding that goes to the religious NGO, most of the Christian alleged charities will save a ton of money and people The Catholic Church is one of the biggest offenders. Remember this is the church that took in homosexual men to train as priests, then when they offended, the church shuffled them around instead of getting rid of them. A very SICK religion. They were as “Jesuit priests” directly involved in the Portuguese slave trade business.Always looking for a fast buck !!!
