Biden calls MAGA crowd the ‘most extreme political organization’ in history [Video]

- President Joe Biden labeled Republicans as the “MAGA crowd” after the Supreme Court Roe v Wade opinion leak.
- Biden described the group as the “most extreme political organization that’s existed in recent American history.”
- He also argued that “This is about a lot more than abortion.”
President Joe Biden criticized the Republican Party when asked about what his administration’s next actions would be if the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade. Recently, a leaked majority opinion indicates that the Supreme Court is poised to do that.
“This is about a lot more than abortion,” said Biden. “This reminds me of the debate with Robert Bork.”
Bork was the solicitor general under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford before he was appointed to the DC Court of Appeals. Former President Ronald Reagan nominated Bork to serve on the Supreme Court in 1987. However, his nomination was blocked by nearly all Senate Democrats and 6 Republicans for holding extreme views — he opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The GOP Party is not over with that rejection up to this day.
Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee at the time. He said Bork believed that the “only reason you had inherent rights is because the government gave them to you.” Biden argued by saying that citizens have rights because each of them is a “child of God.”
“So the idea… that there is no right of privacy,” Biden said, before citing Griswold v. Connecticut, a 1965 decision that there is a “right to privacy,” protecting married couples from state restrictions on the use of contraceptives.
“Well, that got struck down,” Biden said of the Connecticut law. The Griswold decision also helped support the “right to privacy” argument at the heart of 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which held that abortions are protected by the Constitution, the Insider reported.
“Griswold was thought to be a bad decision by Bork, and my guess is, the guys on the Supreme Court now,” said the president. “What happens if you have states changing the law, saying that children who are LGBTQ can’t be in classrooms with other children? Is that legit, under the way that the decision’s written?”
Associate Justice Samuel Alito, who drafted the leaked opinion, said that “attempts to justify abortion through appeals to a broader right to autonomy and to define one’s ‘concept of existence’ prove too much” and argued that rights not specifically enumerated in the Constitution must be “deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition.”
Democrats and constitutional scholars alike are now concerned that the opinion, if it officially becomes the court’s ruling, could start the revocation of rights related to contraception and same-sex marriage.
“What are the next things that are going to be attacked?” Biden asked. “Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history, in recent American history.”

We live in the most dangerous times in American history. I wonder when that breaking point will be reached and another civil war will be enacted. This thought makes me nauseous. Starting a war with a nuclear power nation that believes in world domination is wreckless and dangerous. When a sitting president tells the world it’s leader must be overthrown is a declaration of war. Such fools to put the world in danger.
