Democrats say Congressman-elect George Santos should resign over lies

- Several lawmakers argued that Santos’s “total fabrication” of his resume might just be one of many issues regarding his campaign.
Congressman-elect George Santos (R-N.Y.) has admitted to lying about his background, prompting calls for his resignation.
California Rep. Ted Lieu (D), the incoming vice chair of the House Democratic caucus, said that Santos “should resign” after having “admitted his whopping lies.” Lieu also urged House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to “call for a vote to expel” Santos if he doesn’t resign.
Santos helped the GOP win a narrow House majority when he flipped a seat in November.
It was the New York Times that pointed out inconsistencies in Santos’s official campaign biography.
Santos, who won his Long Island House seat during the midterms, made misleading remarks about working for Citigroup and Goldman Sachs and lied about earning a college degree from New York’s Baruch College.
The Congressman-elect admitted in a New York Post interview that he “never worked directly” with the companies, but worked for Link Bridge, a company that did business with both firms. He also did not graduate from “any institution of higher learning.”
Santos said, “I’m embarrassed and sorry for having embellished my resume. I own up to that … We do stupid things in life.”
Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro (D) argued, “We’ve seen people fudge their resume but this is total fabrication.” He added that Santos should be investigated.
Castro added that allowing Santos to be sworn into office would set a dangerous precedent that lets candidates campaign while touting false background information.
California Rep. Eric Swalwell (D) denounced Santos for “defrauding the voters of Long Island about his ENTIRE resume.”
Incoming New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D) said Santos seemed “a complete and utter fraud — his whole life story made up.”
During his campaign, Santos talked about his Jewish heritage and how his maternal grandparents fled Jewish persecution in Europe during World War II. He later admitted that he identifies religiously as Catholic and clarified, “Because I learned my maternal family had a Jewish background I said I was ‘Jew-ish.'”
Calling for Santos’s resignation, incoming New York Rep. Dan Goldman (D) wrote, “He didn’t graduate college, didn’t work on Wall Street, and isn’t Jewish — all of which he asserted in order to dupe the voters in Queens and Nassau. Santos is not fit to be a member of Congress.”
Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) also called for an investigation into Santos’s campaign fundraising, noting that the “complete fabrication” of Santos’s “life story” might merely be one of many issues.
Santos insisted that he’s “not a criminal,” adding that he’s “done so much good work” in his career. He still intends to take office and have “good legislative success.”

How could any democrat accuse anybody else of lying?
How is lying on a resume any worse than fabricating voting ballots in elections? Democrats are born hypocrites, raised cheaters, and chronic liars.
If Santos won a Demorat seat , all the democrats would be patting him on the back.

All the lies that Biden has told about his background, experiences and family are allowed with no comment. If lying is the standard for Democrats it should be the standard for everyone.
And I want to see Biden’s last five tax returns along with all members of Congress. I don’t care how much anyone is worth going in but I am very interested in their worth coming out. Obana’s last 10-15 years should be fascinating.

Sigh if only the dems were this vigilant about the current “POTUS” story about him getting high honors st his alma mater which turned out to be a nothing burger. If only the dems were as adamant about Biden releasing his tax forms as well as hunter’s. If only the dems would look into Warren claiming she was NA or how Kamala all of a sudden went from the first Indian “so and so” to now the first African American “so and so”. But nah let’s go after republicans with little to no skeletons in their closet instead

Exactly! By the way our seated President lied about his education and we have a US Senator claiming she is from a Native American Indian tribe. Are they going to be asked to resign? If all the elected officials had to resign in our government there would be hardly anyone left in government.

For more than 2 years, Rep Adam Schiff stated he had seen evidence that showed collusion between President Trump and Russia. No such evidence was noted in the Muller report. Was Schiff lying, or was he with holding evidence, which is a crime? And what about the President who never met a story he couldn’t bend into a lie? He was never arrested for trying to meet Mandela, his father and uncle were dead years before he became VP, he never drove a truck cross country, etc. And the VP who insists her family celebrated Kwanza as a little girl? Did Hillary ever land under fire like she said she did? Could the media and democrats (redundant) be more hypocritical?

What this country does not need is another minute of socialist, communist scum aka Democrats. Same applies for the Republicans who voted along with the commie dems for the massive pork filled 1.7 TRILLION spending package while joey is getting hospice care at the Billionaires mansion in the Virgin Islands.
