John Fetterman, the Democrats’ Senate candidate for Pennsylvania, had a shaky debate performance on Tuesday night due to lingering effects from a stroke earlier this year. But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) was caught on a hot mic on Thursday telling President Joe Biden that the Pennsylvania debate didn’t do “too much” damage.
Schumer was heard telling Biden, “It looks like the debate didn’t hurt us too much in Pennsylvania as of today. So that’s good.”
During Tuesday’s debate against Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, Fetterman often struggled to communicate and required closed captioning to better comprehend the remarks from Oz and the moderators.
Pennsylvania is one of the closely monitored states that could tip the Senate majority.
On Thursday, Schumer spokesman Justin Goodman reiterated that the senator “believes the Democratic candidates will win.”
Schumer’s conversation with Biden also appeared to include a different state with a less optimistic forecast. He said at the time, “That seat, we’re in danger in that seat. We’ll see.”
While it’s not clear what seat Schumer is referring to, he seemed to be responding to a comment from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), who said that the candidate is “a nice man” and “one of the only moderates” who “always works with us.”
Schumer also discussed the Senate races in Georgia and Nevada. He remarked that the Democrats are “picking up steam in Nevada” but seem to be “going down” in Georgia, saying, “It’s hard to believe that they will go for Herschel Walker.” He also noted the “huge” turnout during Georgia’s early voting.
The Senate is currently split 50-50 but is technically controlled by the Democrats with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker. For Republicans to take back the majority, they only need to gain one seat, which would allow them to block Biden’s plans for the rest of his term.

Whenever Putin wants to get rid of one of his political rivals, the first thing he does on the state owned media that he controls is accuse that person of pedophilia. It’s an outright lie but as we’ve seen with the dealings during the criminal Ukraine War, Putin is use to being able to say anything and expect his minions to believe it because they never get to hear any version of reality. He should be treated like any other citizen now that he is no longer President, and any other citizen that had done the things that he has done just with the documents at Mar-A-Lago would be in jail already. All the things he has done in regard to the 2020 election, culminating with January 6th should be more than enough to have him behind bars, but he is still free to be running around the country still pushing the Big Lie and endangering our democracy.
