Trump Challenges Biden Autopen Pardons Legitimacy

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he considers all actions conducted by former President Joe Biden using an autopen to be invalid.
Trump’s statement, made on Truth Social, targeted Biden-issued pardons and other documents signed with the autopen, including those for Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, and members of Biden’s family.
“Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized ‘AUTOPEN,’ within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect,” Trump posted.
“Anyone receiving ‘Pardons,’ ‘Commutations,’ or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The Oversight Project shared on X that it examined Biden’s signatures and claims all but one appeared to use the autopen.
“We gathered every document we could find with Biden’s signature over the course of his presidency,” the Oversight Project posted.
“All used the same autopen signature except for the announcement that the former President was dropping out of the race last year.”
The project went on to show comparisons of signatures with the one on the July 21, 2024, letter where Biden said he would not accept the Democratic nomination.
Trump’s announcement will not affect Hunter Biden’s December 1, 2024 pardon, as Joe Biden personally signed it according to the official White House release.
Concerns about Joe Biden’s health and the transparency of the White House have grown. The Wall Street Journal reported that Biden was heavily shielded from Cabinet members during his declining health, with similar reports from earlier in the year.
