ABC News Moderator Admits to Targeting Trump for Fact-Checking While Ignoring Harris
Clear Facts
- ABC News moderator Linsey Davis admitted plans to fact-check only Donald Trump during the recent presidential debate.
- Davis and co-moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump seven times but did not fact-check Kamala Harris even once.
- Davis justified the selective fact-checking by citing concerns from the previous debate where Trump’s statements went unchallenged.
In a recent revelation, ABC News moderator Linsey Davis disclosed that the fact-checking strategy for the latest presidential debate was exclusively aimed at former President Donald Trump.
This admission came during an interview where Davis explained the rationale behind this biased approach.
Davis and her co-moderator, David Muir, fact-checked Trump seven times during the debate, often inaccurately, while Vice President Kamala Harris was not fact-checked even once.
This selective scrutiny persisted despite Harris’s use of debunked narratives, such as the infamous Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax.
Davis justified this approach by pointing to the previous debate in June, where Trump’s statements were left unchallenged by both his opponent and the moderators.
She stated, “People were concerned that statements were allowed to just hang and not [be] disputed by the candidate Biden, at the time, or the moderators.”
Davis elaborated that the decision to focus on Trump was a response to the criticisms following the June 27 debate between Trump and President Biden.
Interestingly, Davis admitted that the moderators had studied past statements, noting that “Politicians tend to say the same things again and again.”
Yet, they failed to prepare for Harris’s repeated use of hoaxes, which she had employed as recently as the 2020 vice presidential debate with Mike Pence.
This revelation raises questions about the integrity and impartiality of the debate moderators.
It also highlights a broader issue of selective fact-checking in media coverage, where certain narratives are scrutinized while others are left unchallenged.

Get even at the ballot box. At proxy voting and you are a Disney shareholder, vote against the entire present board and especially Iger.

The moderators were totally justified in their actions. Trump is a proven liar and fabricator of false information. The CNN moderators in the first debate let Trump run rampant and out of control without any fact checking so it was critical to monitor him this time.

Bill, you missed the part where ONLY Trump was fact checked and the part where Harris accused him of saying things that have long since been debunked. Impartially is essential in media so that the American public can make an informed choice. Unfortunately main stream media has been bought and paid for by the radical left.

There is only one resolution. The concise and unfair method is a fatal flaw in ABC’s operational hierarchy. The penalty travels up. All face unemployment.

The moderators make beaucoup $$$$ per year yet don’t have enough intelligence between the both of them to comprehend that if you fact check one, you MUST fact check the other. How utterly stupid can you be! They deserve to be employed at a minimum wage job.
