Clear Facts
- Karoline Leavitt criticized CNN after the network issued a correction regarding a report on U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
- The White House confirmed it made bipartisan calls to congressional leaders, including attempts to reach Hakeem Jeffries and briefing Chuck Schumer before the strikes.
- CNN retracted its initial claim that Democrats were not informed, following evidence provided by the White House.
In a recent development, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt took CNN to task after the network was compelled to correct a report about a U.S. military strike on Iranian nuclear sites. The correction came after CNN initially claimed that Democratic leaders in Congress were not informed about the operation.
Leavitt clarified the situation, stating that the White House had indeed contacted congressional leaders from both parties.
“The White House made calls to congressional leadership, they were bipartisan calls. In fact, Hakeem Jeffries couldn’t be reached, we tried him before the strike and he did not pick up the phone, but he was briefed after, as well as Chuck Schumer was briefed before prior to the strike,” she explained.
The military action, which targeted sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, utilized 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators. Leavitt emphasized that CNN’s original narrative was “completely false,” and highlighted that both Senator Schumer’s office and CNN had to retract the story after the White House provided timestamps of the calls.
In a post on social media, Leavitt called out CNN for their inaccurate reporting, labeling it as “Fake News.” She reiterated that the White House had made “bipartisan courtesy calls to Congressional Leadership and spoke to Senator Schumer before the strike.”
The incident underscores the importance of accurate reporting, particularly on sensitive matters such as military operations. The strikes came shortly after Israel’s military action against Iran’s nuclear program, which has been met with missile attacks on Israeli cities and a halt in negotiations by Iran.
This situation serves as a reminder of the critical role media plays in shaping public perception and the necessity for news outlets to ensure their reports are based on verified information.

So, CNN believes it’s OK to make up stories and cast aspersions until they are proven to be lying.
How do they survive as a news source?

CNN should lose it’s license to operate as a business. If the FCC has the power it should “cancel” CNN. It is nothing but a propaganda machine like most MSM outlets actually are.
