Obamacare Fraud Drains $65 Billion from American Taxpayers

Clear Facts
- Improper enrollment in Affordable Care Act exchanges cost American taxpayers $65 billion in 2024
- 14.3 million individuals, representing 34% of total ACA enrollees, were improperly enrolled in Obamacare programs
- The Paragon Health Institute analysis exposes massive waste in both exchange enrollment and Medicaid expansion programs
A bombshell analysis from the Paragon Health Institute reveals that improper enrollment in Obamacare programs drained $65 billion from American taxpayers in a single year. The waste represents one of the largest government program failures in recent history.
The report, released Wednesday, examined enrollment patterns across Affordable Care Act exchanges and found systematic problems that allowed ineligible individuals to receive taxpayer-funded benefits. The scope of the improper enrollment is staggering—more than one in three people enrolled in ACA programs should not have qualified for coverage.
Paragon’s comprehensive review combined data from exchange enrollment and Medicaid expansion programs. The findings showed 14.3 million individuals enrolled in 2024 were actually ineligible for the benefits they received. This represents 34% of all ACA enrollees, a percentage that raises serious questions about government oversight and accountability.
The $65 billion price tag falls directly on hardworking American families who foot the bill through their tax dollars. This massive waste occurs while many Americans struggle with rising healthcare costs and increasing insurance premiums. The irony is not lost on critics who have long argued that Obamacare creates more problems than it solves.
The improper enrollment stems from multiple sources within the ACA framework. Medicaid expansion, a key component of Obamacare, appears particularly vulnerable to enrollment errors and potential fraud. Exchange programs designed to provide subsidized insurance also show significant weaknesses in verification processes.
Conservative policy experts have consistently warned about the risks of expanding government healthcare programs without adequate safeguards. The Paragon report validates these concerns and demonstrates the real-world consequences of rushed legislation and poor implementation. When government grows too large and moves too quickly, waste and abuse inevitably follow.
The timing of this report is particularly significant as debates over healthcare policy continue in Washington. Republicans have long advocated for market-based healthcare solutions that emphasize competition, choice, and personal responsibility. The documented waste in Obamacare programs strengthens the argument for fundamental reform.
Taxpayers deserve accountability when billions of their dollars are misspent. The 14.3 million improperly enrolled individuals represent not just statistical errors but real money that could have been used for legitimate purposes or returned to American families. Every dollar wasted on improper enrollment is a dollar taken from someone who earned it.
The verification systems meant to prevent ineligible enrollment have clearly failed on a massive scale. Whether through inadequate technology, insufficient staffing, or deliberate negligence, the result is the same—billions in taxpayer funds flowing to people who should not receive them. This demands immediate investigation and corrective action.
Moving forward, Congress must address these systemic failures. The American people expect their government to be good stewards of tax dollars, not enablers of waste and potential fraud. The Paragon Health Institute analysis provides clear evidence that current ACA enrollment processes require complete overhaul.
This revelation adds to the growing list of Obamacare’s failures since its implementation over a decade ago. From broken promises about keeping your doctor to spiraling premium costs, the program has consistently underdelivered while overcharging American families. The $65 billion in improper payments represents just the latest chapter in this troubled history.

AARP is just a left wing commie front . I had my own business during Covid and was constantly notified I needed to sign up for payroll protection even though I was totally unaffected. I was told “everyone is getting it” the whole Covid scam was devised by the left and china to weaken our great nation
