Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas criticized Democrats for creating travel chaos through what he described as a political temper tantrum.
He argued that the stalling of Department of Homeland Security funding is a deliberate attempt to obstruct the deportation of violent criminal illegal aliens.
Cotton emphasized that the current impasse is not driven by simple budget shortages but by radical policy demands.
He specifically highlighted efforts to prevent ICE agents from wearing masks, which he said protects them from left-wing harassment.
“The reason we’re at this impasse is that Democrats are using long TSA lines to throw a temper tantrum about deportations of violent criminal illegal aliens and funding of ICE and Border Patrol,” Cotton said.
“The reason why ICE officers wear masks is because radical left-wing Democrats will dox them and then their street militias will terrorize their wives and their kids at their houses,” Cotton added.
“That’s why the Democrats are inflicting long TSA lines on the American people.”
Frustrated passengers at major hubs like Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport have expressed anger over the disruptions.
Some travelers said the political divide is harming the nation’s security and basic infrastructure.
“Anyone who votes for a Democrat after this should be shipped out of the country,” one traveler told reporters.
